“Another fantastic holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2011

We have just returned from our 4th visit to this hotel. Since our last visit 3 years ago, the hotel and rooms have been transformed. We stayed in a Junior Suite again, which was beautiful. My only niggle from the last time we stayed is that the suite has been completely renovated, but not improved (in my opinion) as now the lounge and bedrooms has been divided by a sliding glass wall and I preferred the two separate rooms divided by a wall and door (more privacy when the children had gone to sleep). The majority of the staff were the same and amazing remembered us from our previous visits. The staff here are so friendly and can't do enough for you. There are not alot of British people here mainly Russian and some French. I would highly recommend this hotel as it is in a lovely quiet location (but still close to Pattaya if you want more excitement) and directly opposite the beach.

We celebrated Sonkran while we were there and unless you like to join in their customs and traditions(ie getting rather wet and covered in talc), I suggest you don't visit during this time. We were slightly worried about this, but myself and the rest of our family really enjoyed this time and the hotel loved it that we joined in with their celebration.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2010

Stayed 16 days this July , first given a room overlooking a side street , was moved after three days to one with a view(after asking). The hotell is undergoing a big renevation in the lobby at the moment , which means its impossibel to sit there because of the noise. The last few days we had to eat breakfast outside , the pool area is not designed to accomidate so many people at one time.
The pools were lovely and the staff mainly friendly (espically the night staff)

2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2010

I have been to hotels all across Thailand the past 10 years and this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in...

We stayed here during Chinese New Year and the hotel was completely full. The room we had (superior with a full beach view) had the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. It was extremely old and springy. I felt like I was sleeping directly on top of springs. The room air conditioning didn't work well. With day time temps at 34C/93F, the need for a decent air conditioner is a must. The coolest our room got was about 30C/86F. This made sleeping very difficult to do.

At midnight on the first night, I got up and asked the night manager if we could change rooms. The only room available was a room with absolutely no working air conditioner (wouldn't even turn on). So we struggled through the night in a hot, muggy room on an old springy mattress.

The next morning I talked to the daytime manager and he managed to change us to a smaller room, but the air conditioning worked and the bed was slightly (and I mean slightly) better. To be fair, the manager was very friendly and understanding. It was during a major holiday and the hotel was full. Our new room, similar to our old room, was old looking and was in desperate need of renovation. The breakfast was average, at best.

Good things about this hotel are the pools and the view of the deluxe rooms. The main pool (called the Grand Pool) is quite large and nice. There are also 2 smaller pools available on the site as well. The deluxe room has a balcony with a sweeping view of Jomtien Beach. It is a great place to watch the sun set.

Grand this place is not. Palace it most definitely is not. I will never stay here again.
