This hotel is incredible and has such amazing features like over 5 restaurants, infinity pools and beach area.

We booked this for our honeymoon for a quiet getaway and purposely booked the expensive part for privacy and peace and quiet. We looked at pictures before booking and stayed by the infinity pool as we've never been in one and wanted something special for our honeymoon.

We checked in and were given next to no information about the area as the royal Cliff hotels is a huge area with around 4 parts to this company.

It all went downhill from there.
The room was perfect but it's such a shame about the organisation of this company.

That evening after we checked in we walked over to the restaurants and saw lots of men constructing something which looked unsafe and cluttered as we had to walk inbetween in all.

We ate at Chamu the sushi bar and they made fresh veggie sushi which was perfect.

The next morning we woke to noise and walked out to see the construction was actually the set up of a wedding! One we had not been informed of until that moment and it was set up right by the infinity pool so access to this was denied.

That annoyed us immediately as that was a facility we came to use.
We walked to the restaurants to eat at the Thai restaurant but that was also closed off for this wedding so no access again.

This made us so annoyed so we went back to our room where we found a note left just then to explain there will be a wedding during our whole stay and we wont be able to use that pool area or the Thai restaurant!

Then the blaring music started from 2pm to 7pm with drunk wedding members all over the area, walking into their rooms near ours at all hours of the morning and making a lot of noise.

Fuming we went to see the manager which took his time and 3 members of staff to get through before we met. We explained how it is not on that they didn't tell us and he told us he knew a month ago about the wedding! So we explained when we booked he should have emailed that half the facilities will be out of bounds and there will be noise throughout. He empathised and said he understood that they could have informed and didn't, that it was completely thier fault. We then came to a reasonable compensation of 1 night refund out of our 3 night stay.
At check out we realised the 1 night refund hadn't been applied and we called Guy the manager and he said 'sorry no we cannot refund' and left it at that.

Check what function is going on before you stay and don't expect any help or understanding in expensive hotel chains. They do not care they just want to make money.

Its so upsetting because the hotel and grounds is perfect but this function stopped us from using half of the area and ruined our privacy and need for peace and quiet.

Wouldn't go back as he promised a refund then dismissed it. Rude, wrong and uninformative.

My partner and I spent three weeks backpacking around Thailand. Towards the end of the trip we decided to treat ourselves to two nights of luxury at the Royal Cliff Beach Terrace. Having paid about £65 per night we were expecting something pleasant.. but we were absolutely blown away by just how fantastic the place is! The rooms, infinity pools and restaurants were all gorgeous.

Considering the calibre of the resort we were expecting the prices of food/drink to be quite high.. again we were pleasantly surprised! Dishes at the Panorama and Indian restaurants were 150-250 baht (£3-£5) so not bad at all for a 5 star resort. There are more expensive restaurants of course, but if you're looking to spend under 1,000 baht (£20) on dinner for two people it's easily done.

Don't miss out on happy hour!! There are three bars that run half price drinks 5-7pm every day. The best is above the Beach Terrace Hotel. Sit in huge round couches while watching the sun set - very picturesque. Pricing is a little sneaky as the figure on the menu doesn't include tax or a service charge.. so really everything is 17% percent more than it appears. That being said, during happy hour cocktails are about 130-140 baht (under £3) including the extras - so a good bargain. The staff serve you plenty of peanuts/pretzels/snacks which is nice too. Service can be very slow but is always friendly - just sit back and relax.

Our booking was room-only and the breakfast buffet was 750 baht so we skipped that (I'm sure it's great though). Instead, we discovered the bakery counter next to Panorama restaurant sells all their cakes, pastries, sandwiches, pies and quiches half price between 7-9:30pm. About 20-50 baht. So, if you remember to pop by and grab some pastries they are great for a quick breakfast the next morning.

What we were MOST impressed with was the fantastic room service! The menu is a bit of everything.. some Thai, some pasta, some curry, some pizza. All at about the same price (or cheaper!) than the restaurants. Both times our food was delivered within 30 minutes and was delicious and very well presented. Again, this is a much cheaper option for breakfast than paying for the buffet.

The only downside is the hotel is quite far from Pattaya town. The hotel shuttle doesn't run very often and costs 100 baht per person each way. That being said.. Pattaya is an overpriced, dirty, touristy mess. You are not missing anything if you decide to remain at the resort!

We loved the place so much we extended our stay by two nights - and are already looking forward to our next visit.

The Royal Cliff Beach Terrace is a beautiful hotel with easy access to the beach and has many places to eat. It is clean and comfortable with a great staff. It is a little outside of Pattaya but a great place to relax and enjoy your holiday.

Good points: Huge hotel with 11 restaurants, 4 different swimming pools with private beach
Points to be considered: A little far from downtown of Pattaya
There are 3 different styles of hotel rooms in Royal Cliff hotel groups, the one we chose is terrace room and is better for couple. The hotel is a little pricey but it is worth spending.

Room- renovated, very clean, with the most beautiful sea view!

Restaurants- Very good. The food is a plus in this hotel, the Saturday dinner buffets have high quality food, the Italian restaurant is beautiful and the food is sooo good. Also the Thai restaurant has great food. The breakfast is also good, with a lot of variety.

Beach- private beach is clean, sand over concrete with stairs to the water.

Kids place- Huge, very well decorated, with ipads, films, computers, lots of toys, we really enjoyed being there with the kids!

Service- Very attentive staff.

We only suggest a renovation on the swimming pool common area of the Beach Hotel, it needs an update.

We are going to return, for sure!

Room tip: The rooms of the Beach Terrace are close to the sea.
