My wife and I are just back from Pattaya having stayed at the Dusit Hotel. I have to be honest and say this was the best hotel I have ever stayed in.

From arrival we were greeted by staff who went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The hotel foyer is a fantastic open plan leading on to an inside garden with a waterfall about 50 feet high.

We had a sea-view room on the 7th floor which was everything we would have wanted. Complimentary fruit every day and excellent service - the room was made up every day and the bed turned down every night.

There are 3 excellent restuarants in the hotel - something for everyone and at reasonable prices as well.

3 swimming pools - excellent pool attendants - great gym. You could just stay at this hotel for 3 weeks without leaving the grounds and have a brilliant time.

Overall - I would recommend this hotel to anyone - you will enjoy staying here.

“Best hotel I've stayed at in Thailand”

Dusit Resort Pattaya

I have travelled to most of the tourist desinations in Thailand and I'm not saying Pattaya is the best holiday destination but I have to say that the Dusit is the best hotel I have stayed at within Thailand. Why ? . . . . the staff.

I have to mention the pool boys and bar staff around the lagoon pool, they ensured our stay from start to finish was first class looking after us from the start including bringing us fresh cold water throughout the day free of charge. The ladies in the lounge bar were always cheerful and efficient with their service and our rooms were kept immaculate throughout. (The rooms are becoming a little tired but hey you only sleep there).

I have stayed at the Dusit before and also visited Pattaya on other occassions but having sayed there last year and this, I know this is the hotel I will always stay when in Pattaya. The number of people staying at the Dusit who are repeat guests is quite frightening (we didn't speak to anyone who hadn't previously styed there)

Don't be put off Pattaya, (less than 2 hours from Bangkok) here's something for everyone there. We don't even visit Walking Street when we go, thats not the type of holiday we go for, we go to Pattaya for the friendly people, the lovely weather and a fantastic time and there's no better place to enjoy yourself than at the Dusit.

“great hotel”

Dusit Resort Pattaya

We stayed in this hotel for three weeks and have just returned. This hotel is well run,the staff are smart, very helpfull and very polite at all times. It is a beautifull and airy hotel with great gardens and pools in the better side of pattaya. We would definitley return to this hotel in the future. Yes it does need a bit of paint here and there and maybe some new carpets in the corridors, but when is the best time to carry out upgrades in a hotel that is open all year. This is a great hotel and we would like to express our thanks to all staff for our stay.

Mr.and Mrs. Waller and family.

“****Lovely Hotel Good Honest Review****”

Dusit Resort Pattaya

Apr 22, 2008
5/5 found this review helpful

I stayed at the Dusit Resort Pattaya from the
15th February 2008 to 01st March 2008. I went to Pattaya with my partner and it was the first time we had visited Thailand.

The hotel on arrival was stunning, the lobby/reception was decorated absolutly beautifull with stunning marble floors, lovely decor and nice pleasant staff. The overall look on entering the Dusit Resort is that it is definetly 5*. Unfortunetly this did not carry through to the rooms.

We were taken to our room by one of the reception staff and as soon as we seen it we were both very dissapointed. The room was pretty dated, dark, carpet was dirty and had definetly seen better days, the bathroom was ok but overall the room given was not of a 5* standard. As we were unhappy we asked to be moved rooms which they did. The second room was far better, bright, clean carpet and looked far newer than the previous room. It may have been one of the newly decorated rooms. (The room was on the 7th floor and I beleive that all the better rooms are on that floor as guests located on that floor are dusit club members and have use of extra facilities so If you can request a room on the 7th floor it is definetly worth while).

The pool at the Dusit is absolutly beautifull. It has 2 pools and both are fantastic. Its never over crowded and you can always get a sunbed in the morning along with fresh towels that the hotel supply. We never ate breakfast or dinner in the hotel although we did have a few cakes and pastrys at the counter in reception, these are decently priced and are definetly YUMMY!!!!!!

The location of the Dusit Resort is fantastic, The centre of Pattaya is only a short walk away. You can also use the Baht buses which are cheap and a really good to get you around Pattaya if you dont like walking much. Just a tip - only pay 10 Baht per person for these, If you feel you have gone really far then give 20 Baht per person.

A great place to try on a Sunday for brunch is the Mantra just across the road from the Dusit - Its is expensive by Thai standards around £25.00 per person but it has everything you can dream off and alot of the food is made to order for you. You can eat what you want, when you want untill you are full its sort of like a buffet - there are lots of counters cooking various types of food you go up to however many you like and you give them a ticket with your table number on it and they cook it for you - it various from pizza, burgers,steak,thai,chinese,Indian,fish/seafood and sooooo much more. The desserts are fabulous they even have a chocolate fountain milk, dark and white chocolate. Absolutly YUMMY so I would definetly advise you to go there on a Sunday (You may want to book a table as it is very popular even with the locals). Dont eat anything before you go and I shouldnt think you would need dinner after this in the evening either. It really is out of this world.

Pattaya is fantastic for shopping. They do put the prices high to start but usually half them and thats the price you will pay. We visited the Ice Bar in Pattaya (Absolutly everything is made of ice) this is a good thing to see but not really worth the money as you cant stay in there for long as you will freeze.

I went with my partner and although Pattaya is full of women I didnt have any problems or trouble from them at all. If you are a couple they pretty much leave you alone. Take a look along "Walking Street" this is something you just have to go an see its definetly an eye opener (I didnt go to have a drink or eat anything there but Its good to just say you have experieced it)

I really hope you find my review helpfull and I wish I had this information before I left.

Jade and Mikey
