This is a great thrill with amazing views.
They pick you up directly from your hotel in a van with some others that will likely be in your group. It took just over an hour to get there. And a few minutes to drive up in the mountain where you’re geared up.
After getting geared up you get a quick safety briefing (listen carefully) and then you have a 15 minute hike uphill to the first platform.
The total trip can take anywhere from 1:30 hours to 3 hours depending on the group.
I never felt in danger for a second. The guide’s priority is safety so they take care of the group pretty well.
At the end the guide told us to “remember him” I thought he we being sentimental but what he really meant was give him a tip after we get back.
After he got back he asked the other 4 people that were together for a tip and they gave him 100 baht and he said “is this from one of you or from all of you, I work very hard” complaining that it wasn’t enough. Then he asked my girlfriend and I for a tip, but I only had 40 baht to give each of the two guides as all my other cash was in very high denominations. So we handed him the money and he looked at it and said “what’s this, this is for water, this isn’t a tip, just go eat your lunch” refusing the tip. I was in shock from his response but I didn’t let it bother me, I know it’s a little tip but it’s all I could give at the time. His poor response just shows bitterness so I can only pity him.
The lunch was quite good, except for the small flies everywhere. There were so many small flies all around everyone and everything. Outdoor restaurant so that’s expected.
Is it worth 3300 Baht? Yes, but only just considering what else you could do for 3300 baht. One of the workers there told me that the Chiang mai Zip-line is better than Bangkok and Pattaya.
