I stayed at the Citin Garden Resort in early-mid June of 2011 for 5 days. Overall, I was happy with the hotel, especially with the price. If I ever go back to Pattaya, this hotel will definitely be at the top of my list but I would not necessarily stay here. If your budget is paramount to you, this hotel is for you. If you can swing paying more, I would encourage you to look for something else (all the ritzy hotels are in North Pattaya).

The hotel is located in South Pattaya on South Pattaya Road. However, it's relatively far from the beach, approximately 2.5 km. While this may not sound far, walking in plus 36 degree heat is impossible. Thank god for the free hourly tuk-tuk from the hotel to the beach.

Tuk-tuks in Pattaya are tricky. For 100 baht it will take you anywhere you tell the driver to go in the city. But if you just jump on like the rest of the locals, you only pay 10 baht. The caveat is that you don't know where the driver is going and you hope you reach your destination. That's the beauty of the Citin Garden Resort – if you hop on a tuk-tuk on South Pattaya Rd, it will most likely take you all the way to the beach since it's a direct route (and vice-a-verse). South Pattaya Rd directly leads to the naughtiest place on earth – Walking Street.

The hotel itself looks like it's stuck in the 1970's. While it's clean, it needs to be renovated. Very much so. My room (307) was spacious, comfortable, clean, and did not smell of cigarettes. The A/C was cold. The in-room safe was old but worked (however it's too small to fit a laptop). The towels and sheets looked very old but were clean. The TV was old but worked. The hotel was quiet and I slept fine. Yes the hotel is “guest friendly” (or so I witnessed). The room contained a house-size refrigerator (which nicely accommodated my many beers and food I bought at Big C – see below)!

The staff is very pleasant and efficient. They will comply with all reasonable requests and will answer your questions. They are also trustworthy – I left clothes and toiletries and they were still there after housekeeping was done with my room. I did not use the laundry services at the hotel. There is also free wifi for all as well as two internet stations in the restaurant.

I always woke up late so I cannot comment on the free breakfast. However, I did order “western” food during lunch (a strangely “deconstructed” tuna sandwich and club sandwich) and the quality was fine. There is a nice and clean pool at the hotel although I used it only once.

As mentioned, there's a free one-way tuk-tuk service to the beach from the hotel on the hour from approx 9am to 10pm. More importantly, there's a small mall a short (2 minutes) walk from the hotel across the road which has a Big C store on the second floor (essentially a Walmart). The mall also contains a couple of restaurants and I tried the MK restaurant (Chinese food), which was excellent. There is also a Mister Donut in the mall, which I frequented often (hey I was on vacation).

Having stayed at the hotel for almost a week, I do have a few complaints. The biggest issue is the fact it needs to be renovated, badly. I cannot stress this point enough. Furthermore, you cannot dial out and I had to ask the very nice girl at the desk if I can use her cellphone for a few minutes (she gave it to me without hesitation). Additionally, the hotel is rather far from the centre of town, which I suppose is both good and bad – depends on what you want to do in Pattaya. You should definitely keep this hotel as an option but decide first what is more important to you and how much you want to spend on accommodations. For example, for the same nightly price, you could get a small room in the centre of town at the many hostels (some right off the beach) – plainly a different experience than a large hotel such as this. I did see a bunch of large tourist buses arriving at the hotel on a regular basis, so obviously the hotel cannot be that bad.

Hi all,
We traveled in may 2011. We pay 1month advance so we get a very spacious deluxe room in half price. So better grab that chance. They are far away from the beach area but they provide free tuk-tuk service to go to the city center/near beach area. The tuk-tuk service is close around 10PM so if u late u have to pay around 100/200 bath for taxi to go there. Very nice buffet breakfast and the overall room service is quite good. Nice place for tourist who want some relax....

Thanx

We stayed in citin for 3 days , and we had a lovely experience. Big rooms Big bathrooms, though not very stylish but worth price one pays for!

on the day on check in i forgot my laptop bag and cellphone in the lobby and to my surprise i found both the things intact next day in the morning with the receptionist who was more then happy to return it back to me! ( a rare thing in pattaya)

this hotel is a bit far from the happening areas but they have free tuk-tuk service to drop you anywhere and just let them know they will call in your room and let one know the tuk tuk is ready to drop you anywhere in the city! fabulous.

breakfast was good , the chef went out of his way to prepare vegeterian meal for us everyday.

the receptionist POM was very helpful .

swimming pool area is nice and cosy.

Overall a very good stay for me with my family of 10 people.

Booked this hotel through a travel website and it mentioned that it is located on the beach.Beware this hotel is not located on the beach and the hoitel is quite in the interiors. Most of the taxi/tuk tuk drivers donot know this hotel.None of the attractions are within walking ditsance and u will have to take a tuk tuk.Though the hotel had a complimentary shuttle it plies only once an hour and there is no return shuttle.Apart from the location other facilities were quite decent. There are lot of other hotels which are more convienenly located which you could find at the same price....

If you don't have the fancy of staying near the beach or walking street, this is a great hotel to stay in pattaya. Though located a bit away from the happening area, the stay at this beautiful resort hotel as they call it is worth an experience.

The young receptionists were very warm and welcoming who provide us a hassel free check-in and were always ready for assistance whenever required.Housekeeping was reasonably good with almost everything provided in a 3 star hotel room including a tea/coffee maker and a refrigerator. The request for extra pillows and towels were met immediately. The most pleasant surprise was not being charged for the third person as our son joined us from Singapore, though we had booked a double room. When we wanted to pay for the same, they said it was complimentry.

The rooms were quite large enough to accomodate three of us comfortably and having more than enough space for keeping our luggage, shopping bags and of course for my daily exercise and yoga. We had opted for a pool side room which had wonderful views in the morning and evening. It was indeed a wonderful experience having morning tea in the pool facing balcony of our room amidst chirping of birds; watching white ducks in the inhouse small pond, pleasant sound of the water fountains and not to forget the surroungind small garden. Sipping our evening drink at the dimly lit poolside, we always felt to be in some beautiful resort rather than in pattaya.

The free buffet breakfast was a treat so sumptuous and full of variety that we hardly felt to have lunch anyday. The promptness of the smiling staff in the restaurant to offer us 2nd/3rd helping of so many items was unforgettable. The Chef who cooked a vegetarian omlette on first morning for us at our request, did not fail to ask us for the same every morning and above all prepared and served the same with such affection as if it was served by a family member.

Though the hotel is a bit away from the beach road, it provides free tuktuk service to its guests for droppin and picking up from almost any area within the town and even don't mind to provide you this facility more than once or twice a day if the tuktuk is available. Songthews to and from the hotel are available on the main road which is just 50 yards away and charge between 100-200 THB depending on the time and place.

Charlie, the travel desk operator was a wonderful guy who not only guided us to enjoy pattaya at its best but also accompanied us at few places with his running commentary without taking any extra money. He is a guy who can organise hasslefree sightseeing in pattaya within minimum time and budget.

If staying in a beach front hotel is not your priority, this is a hotel which can leave you with unforgettable memories of pattaya at unbelievable price.

We booked the Penthouse Suite at this hotel and it was just as described on their website and on trip advisor. The suite was very clean and tidy with and the cleaners came everyday. The suite was very spacey and more than enough for us (7 young males). The ONLY problem with the suite was the views aren't amazing and there is a lot of development going on around the area but no noise can be heard from construction workers. Otherwise we were shocked with amazement when we entered the suite!!
The hotel was it self was nice and staff were very helpful and understood English very well. The buffet breakfast was free for us and served well except for the odd fly hopping around which is expected in Thailand!! The only bad point about the hotel was the pool area...it doesn't have a proper jacuzzi as you would expect. I assumed it will be a separate jacuzzi hot tub but instead its a 'whirlpool' system integrated into the swimming pool wall.
Location was okay but we knew before booking it would be about 5-10mins tuk tuk ride from 'walking street'. Big C the shopping centre was walking distance and was good to stock up on cold drinks before heading out for the night!

Room Tip: Penthouse Suite!!
