“A nice stay away from walking street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2010

This is a great small hotel to stay at. We are a family of five and had two rooms for 3 days. The staff and the general manager were wonderful and helped us whenever needed. The hotel is a little off the beaten track away from walking street. The breakfast spread was really wonderful. You cant help but make it your brunch and skip lunch. You can rent a car or bike and keep there also. Worth a stay!

i went back to the Woodlands for 2 nights this week, and as always, everything was perfect. from check-in to check-out i can not think of anything that was missing.

the best thing about this place is that whoever i take there thinks i am the best guy on the planet. i have yet to take anyone there and not have them continue to keep saying, as if it were a mantra, "this is a really nice hotel, the pool is so beautiful, its so quiet, the bed is so comfortable, and everybody (staff) is so nice and polite." truly, Woodlands never fails to get this response.

you have to try the bakery out in the front of their adjoining sister hotel, Woodlands. it is french style and impeccably authentic. i had a simple apple tart with cream, and it was simply heaven. the coffee is also great there. fresh and aromatic. despite being very crowded the service was spot on too.

so thanks woodlands for a great stay and making my friends feel so at home, AGAIN!

After visiting Woodlands website as well as reading Tripadvisor's pages I booked Woodland suites for us (2 + a 13 years old daughter) for our two week Pattaya holiday. My expectations vere high due to Tripadvisor recommendations and I was wondering whether they ever coud be met. But Woodlands managed to even exeed them! Our executive suite was just perfect: we had lots of room, very comfy beds, well working equipment and internet connection, nice view to the pool.
We got the pool almost to ourselves as the suites side was not crowded and we used the pool mainly in the morning before noon. It did not bother us, that the pool was in the shade after 3 pm, as we used the morning hours for swimming and sunbathing and did short trips around Pattaya in the afternoon. Our daughter is a swimmer, and she dominated the pool - but most of the time we were the only ones there after all.

If I had to pinpoint one fault, I would complain about noisy airconditioning. It was kind of loud, but you got used to it in a couple of days. Everything else was just perfect. My husband is a very choosy what comes to breakfast. Almost all his peculiar needs were fulfilled (how to fry eggs, what kind of juice he drinks etc). We had the resort's buffet breakfast once due to it being served already around 6 am as we had an early start to a daytrip to the Flight of the Gibbon - which was exciting and fun trip, I must add.

The apartment has it all: well equipped kitchen, ironing facilities, two flat tvs, dvd, cd, inroom safe, hair dryer etc. Service was excellent, clean, safe. There is also a fitness center and also business center with computers available.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. It is a short walk to the Dolfin roundabout, where you can easily hop in a songtao. And a plus: restaurant Kiss serves good food 24 hours a day with a very very cheap prices at the roundabout!

I can recommend Woodlands suites to be one of the best hotels I've stayed in, and I travel a lot both business and private. I would defenately choose it again, should I come back to Pattaya.

We stayed at the Woodlands Suites Hotel with our son for 5 days in mid January for a break on the way home to Australia from Europe. Pattaya is a 90 minute drive from Bangkok airport via freeway. The suite we had was beautifully appointed with a kitchen (stove top, microwave and large fridge), luxurious bathroom and even a dressing room with loads of storage and a safe. The place was fully tiled with black granite benchtops. The king size bed was HUGE and oh so comfortable. Bed linen and towels were first class. Our son slept on the sofa which became a good size single bed.

Breakfast was included (try and organise this) which we could have at the cafe on the premises or next door at the sister resort. The breakfast at the Woodlands resort was a buffet with more options but we frankly didn't like the atmosphere there. Unfortunately there were many European men who were dining with their Thai lady 'guests' which we found revolting. It really put us off our food. So we had the rest of our breakfasts at the Woodlands Grappa restaurant which wasn't the best. They had NO idea how to make the various sauces they offered with eggs - the hollandaise and mornay were inedible! However the fruit and pastries were good and the cappuccino was reasonable. Even though the menu was limited we had 'normal' patrons around us, families and couples rather than poor exploited local girls.

The staff were friendly and keen to help us in any way. The prices were high for Thailand so we waited for happy hour to sample cocktails. There are many restaurants nearby where we grabbed take-away to enjoy back in our suite. The airconditioning worked very well - a must in this part of the world. We were on the 5th floor, our balcony overlooked roof tops but you could see the sea beyond.

The position wasn't bad as you could hop on the bus to take you to central Pattaya. We had a suit made using a tailor just across the road and could also walk up the road to a large Tesco supermarket (10 minutes) for supplies. A small local market also sprung up on the main road. You could buy most things at that market - clothing, footwear, jewellery, souvenirs etc.

The Woodlands Suites Hotel is superb - very clean and modern. It has its own pool but you can also use the pools at the Resort next door. We much preferred the private pool which was impeccably maintained and not at all crowded when we were there. All in all a great choice providing some peace in a bustling, dirty city. We really did relax there which was the whole idea of the trip. You will not be disappointed with the accommodation, but Pattaya might not be to everyone's liking. We found it very sleazy and will not return there.
