This is our 2nd visit to Four Seasons Koh Samui - and boy did we enjoy it!!
Despite the weather not being ideal for the most part of our stay (it was windy and overcast for about 7 out of 12 days) - we had the loveliest, luxurious break. The villas are very specious - even with 2 children (we had one roll out bed and one baby cot) - and the staff fenced off the pool and the gaps in the fence on the terrace to ensure our 15 month old baby doesn't fall through the gaps (it may pay to e-mail the hotel and request that service in advance).
From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the Resort Manager Ram we were looked after like family by all the staff. The food in the resort was a HIGHLIGHT for us (much improved from our last stay 3 years ago - thanks to the new head-chef Alex and restaurant manager Jose - great, dynamic Spaniards team). The beach restaurant had an EXTENSIVE local food menu and the food was truly amasing and authentic. This is also complemented with an even larger 'western' food menu - so don't worry if you don't like Thai food! :-)
The beach & buggy boys are very friendly and helpful and the KIDS CLUB is a highlight in itself. Our 5 year old has made some beautiful craft things and he has met some lovely new friends. The staff took care of all the children so well - some days David could hardly wait to finish his breakfast so he can go to the kids club (a nice thing for us, of course! Pina Colada anyone? :-))
Talking about BREAKFAST - oh my! what a selection! There is something for everyone there - whether you are on a low cal and veggies + fruit only diet or you want full cooked breakfast with 'works and all' + the BEST pancakes and waffles - and the list goes on. The food was always of the highest quality and standard.
We were a bit unlucky with the weather as it was windy and overcast a bit - so we had a few massages and face treatments. They were really lovely and in a STUNNING SETTING - but I am afraid, I found them too expensive for what they were. The therapist were good but not 'Wow' so that paying $300 for a massage or a facial felt excessive when I can have one in Australia for $69 at my local Thai Spa (not FS standard but beautiful nevertheless and the quality of the massage was higher). I think I would have had quite a few more treatments (hell - at least another 4 or 5!) if the prices were not this prohibitive. I understand one has to mark up the food and wine etc - but the spa should be a little more accessible.
Everything else at the resort was absolutely fantastic - the In Villa dining was quick and of a very high standard (we had to stay in quite a few evenings because of our children).
The resort has a fleet of 'private taxis' that can take you anywhere on the island. They are a much better deal than hiring your own driver for the day. You can simply call the resort and they'll send the taxi to pick you up from wherever you are and it'll only cost you THB 400 each way (about $A11).
The resort has a BEAUTIFUL library with many books & DVDs you can borrow and 3 computers and printers if you need to connect with friends or do some work.
FS Koh Samui is hilly and all the villas are very private surrounded by palm trees and vegetation. To get around (we walked) - you can call for a buggy and they came very quickly.
If you go there - try the free yoga class on Monday and Friday - it is a HIGHLIGHT. The yoga teacher (Sanja) is terrific!
On the sunny days we just stayed on the beach and drank many Pina Coladas etc and life was good!
We were in room 501 - which is VERY private and closer to the breakfast area but a bit further from...

Thank you so much for your wonderful review; it was our sincere pleasure having you and your family back with us. I am happy to read that we were able to provide you with another enjoyable stay and that our food offering, Kids' Club and Yoga Class were the highlights of this family holiday. David's eagerness to return every day to Kids Club for more fun was the best compliments for our Kids' Club team.
Your comments about the Spa have been noted and I will certainly review it with our Spa Manager in order for us to improve as we move forward.
Thank you once again for staying with us and for your continued support of Four Seasons. We hope to welcome all of you once again in the future.
