We stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary. The hotel is immaculate with beautiful gardens. The staff (everybody) were very friendly and helpful - always smiling. The service was excellent. We stayed in a junior suite which was very comfortable and it was lovely having our bed turned down each evening. The food was very nice and presented very well. We dined in the hotel quite a few times, the standard of food we thought was very high. We also ventured along the beach to Fishermans Village and tried several places for drinks and food, all were very good. The pool area is lovely and the pool lads very attentive, moving your parasol whenever you needed it moving. Altogether, we had a very relaxing holiday. We loved the people, we loved the area and we loved the girls on the beach doing the massages. The entertainment at the hotel, although not every evening, was very good. We will be back and would not hesitate recommending this resort to anyone.

Ko Samui airport is just fantastic....what an experience.

We stayed at the Bo Phut Resort for 6 days as part of our honeymoon. When we arrived in the evening, we were greeted by the staff with flower garlands and drinks. We had booked a deluxe room and the bed was beautifully decorated with 'Happy Honeymoon', along with the bath filled with orchid petals. We also received fresh fruit every day and a 'Honeymoon' cake which was really yummy along with a bottle of red wine.

The staff were all very friendly - the restaurant staff, the receptionists, the bellboys and gardeners. We had a few problems while in Koh Samui but they willingly helped us with any queries we had.

The breakfast buffet was nice - much nicer than your European hotel breakfasts. There were different selections of food - continental, english, oriental and a stir-fry area where you could specifiy what you wanted in your rice/noodles. We tried Sala Thai on the first night and it was very delicious - slightly more expensive. The other nights, we were to Chaweng, to Nathon and mostly to the Fisherman's Village which is just down the beach from the hotel.

Overall, if I were to return to Koh Samui, I would definitely consider staying at the Bo Phut again.

Bo Phut Resort is a really lovely place to spend a relaxing week or two. Bo Phut itself if thankfully a world away from the over-commercialised Chaweng, and the ambience at Bo Phut Resort reflects that.


As in most hotels in Asia, the service here is superb. From the restaurant staff to the cleaners to the pool boys, nothing is too much trouble and everything is to the highest standards. You always get a hello from every member of staff and one day, we even saw maintenance workers knee-deep in the lotus pond near the Sala Thai restaurant straigtening the reeds so they all looked the same - and they also took the time to give us a greeting while they were doing it. Remarkable.


We stayed in an ocean view room and although they are quite far back away from the beach, the view is still spectacular of Ko Pgan Ngan in the distance. With the jacuzzi bath on the balcony, the bathroom is perhaps a bit small for 2 people getting ready at the same time, but it wasn't a massive problem. The room is turned down nightly and kept spotless bby the cleaning staff.


Breakfast is an event, with a lot of choice and beautiful views of the beach and sea while dining. The Sala Thai is a really lovely romantic place with a nice atmosphere and not as expensive as others on TA had said it was. OK, it is more expensive than dining in the village, but you pay more for the food quality and the setting.


The pool itself is just the right size, and although the hotel was more or less full when we were there (august) you could always get a lounger either facing the sea (beautiful views of Ko Pgan Ngan) or the pool itself. The waiters and pool boys were very attentive and one of them even helped us sort out a hobie-cat catermaran trip across to the small island you can see in the distance (see pics) from the beach which was a fabulous way to spend a couple of hours.


The beach itself is probably not as 'postcard perfect' as other Thai beaches and the sand is a little coarse at first, but it is genuinely not a problem to walk on and my photos show how beautiful it is. The water is really warm and lovely to swim in as it has calm waves. Good massages are available down the beach and the spa in the hotel is a lot more expensive but worth it for the chilled-out ambience.


Fisherman's Village is a nice place to wander along to at night, with some good bars and restaurants. Our favourite places to eat were Starfish and Coffee, Baia (Italian), The Shack (for when you've had your fill of Thai) and The Pier. Seawrap on the beach next to Bo Phut Resort is also very nice - book ahead for a good table.


Overall, Bo Phut Resort is a lovely hotel with good service great views and excellent standards. It doesn't feel as uncomfortably stuffy and pretentious as some 5-star resorts might do, which is a positive in my view. If that's what you're looking for, go elsewhere. But if you want a relaxing experience in a beautiful seafront location, then Bo Phut Resort will be perfect for you.

As a luxury travel advisor and owner of a four star property, we are very picky about our experience when we travel. Without question, the Bo Phut Resort in Ko Samui is the best resort we have stayed at to date (and we have stayed at many four and five star properties throughout the world). We originally intended to stay for only three days. We ended up canceling the rest of our itinerary for Thailand and stayed at the resort for two weeks. It was that nice! The resort's attention to detail and niceties is amazing. Immaculate, beautiful gardens and suites. Staff with genuine smiles and desire to help. Warm rather than stuffy. Clean. Lovely beach. Complementary internet throughout. Good restaurants. If we asked for anything, it was promptly and cheerfully provided. We cannot say enough about this property. If you want a treat and to be spoiled, stay here. We'll be back (if we ever leave - extended 3 times already!) Absolutely fabulous!
