This hotel is situated amongst a shopping plaza. The rooms all overlook the plaza or the pool. Some have a sea view, most have double doors opening out rather than balcony.

The room was really nice, low bed with a lovely bathroom. Best nights sleep we had on our whole trip was here. Serviced daily, great aircon, staff very attentive. - I would recommend this hotel.

The location was good for us, right on the beach but in the centre but now slap bang in the throng of everything, as we like a walk and it was quiet on a night.

The pool area was lovely and you walked right out from the pool to the beach.

We ate in the restaurant one night and it was good, breakfast was great with loads to chose from.

The hotel is clean and has a picturesque view. Its located at the end of Chaweng and is in the heart of the main Chaweng thoroughfare. The rooms are done in dark wood and provides a cosy ambience. The service is excellent and staff was helpful and co-operative. Last but not the least - the breakfast was awesome. We would love to go back there so long as the rates remain affordable!

The Iyara is a lovely modern Hotel, situated on the edge of Chaweng Beach but close to the bars and shops. The attached plaza has probably the best shops on the resort. The rooms are spacious and cleaned thoroughly every day. However the standard rooms do not have a balcony, and I definately found that a miss. The pool area was also very clean, even though the restaurant was located quite close. The breakfast - buffet style had a good selection and for those who like the english breakfast, eggs were fried or poached or you could have an omelette cooked while you waited. The lunch and evening menus were extensive for both thai and international cuisine, which were of excellent quality and were reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful and the Management were very approachable. Their English was of a good standard. I would certainly recommend the Iyara, but for those like me who like a balcony I would book a suite or bungalow.

The hotel is modern, the service is very good and the rooms are large and clean, however, there are a few problems.

The rooms which are on the beach side and the small individual cabins are very good, however, the standard and some of the de-luxe rooms face out onto the Plaza. There are no balconies (not good if you have swimming gear to dry) and worse of all the Plaza plays loud piped music constantly from 11am in the morning until 11pm in the night, not good if you want to rest between these hours.

The beach is excellent for snorkelling when the tide is in however when the tide is out it is a bit of an eyesore. The pool is only big enough for children but there are plenty of sun beds.

Breakfast has plenty of choice. There are no lifts to the standard rooms so not a good choice for people with mobility problems.
