This Pinnacle resort is tired and dreary with its website an obvious photoshop product. The rooms in the bungalow were very dark, with the lights having no luck illuminating the dark rattan walls and wooden floors. The wi-fi was essentially non-existent in our room, in spite of the efforts of the technician who looked at the signal strength (the dot at the bottom of the bars) and declared it the same as usual, very poor. The old tube television was small with a rounded screen (haven't seen one of those in a while) which we didn't even turn on, which may have been the best thing if it worked as well as the safe, which failed to open and required the support of a less than charming front office person to open. We opted to leave early since the place simply did not fit the description (it was also located well away from anything so if isolation is what you desire, it's a perfect location) and informed them the day before we left; however, they still insisted on nailing us for a day's extra room rate in spite of the advanced notice. Much arguing and postulating followed, with the manager hiding behind the front line man who was doing his best, but to no avail. Fortunately for us, they could not figure out the visa repayment so they gave us a cash refund for the remainder of the intended stay, still withholding the extra day's payment. At least we got the points on Visa for the originally intended week long stay. We have stayed in literally hundreds of hotels and guest houses in our travels, and this was one of the worst with regard to the treatment by management and the apparent lack of concern over our feelings about the place. If you are going to Samui, certainly take time time to loom around at other options. The "best value for money" slogan, may be a tad misleading. Happy travelling

We appreciate you bringing the mentioned issues to our attention and apologize for failing to provide you with a pleasant stay.
Allow me to start by clarifying the issue of the extra night’s charge for early check-out, since this was clearly your greatest grievance. This is hotel policy and in accordance with the terms agreed upon when checking the box for our booking terms upon making the booking on our website. You had booked seven nights, and left after three. Because of the early checkout, we charge the price of one extra night.
Moving on to the stay itself, I am sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with our usually popular Standard Bungalows. Our Bungalows are decorated in traditional Thai style and located within a tropical garden. As for the lighting, some Bungalows are protected from the hot sun by trees providing shade. Combined with the stormy weather we have been having lately, which also affects the quality of the wifi, this may make the rooms seem somewhat dark.
As for the television, we will be replacing our tube televisions with LCD televisions next year.
Upon examination it was found that the room safe does indeed work, but I do wish to apologize that the service of assisting in opening the safe was not up to standard.
On the location, the Maenam Beach is best for travelers who want to get away from the hustle of the city and who are looking for total relaxation on a palm fringed, sandy beach. Our unpretentious and friendly family resort offers a perfect retreat into natural surroundings. For those who want to enjoy the nightlife of Chaweng we offer a daily shuttle service at 5.00 pm and 7.00 pm to Chaweng for 150THB/person.
