“Loved the park, although tour was impersonal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

The park itself was stunning, although we were pushed onto an crowded boat and herded from one place to another like cattle - occasionally being shouted at, and whole day felt a little stressful and rushed!! Kayak trip, walk to inland island lagoon and lunch on boat were fine but rushed, although it was all made better when we managed to climb (not for the unfit or the faint-hearted) to the viewpoint on Koh Ang Thong and take in the spectacular views of this truly beautiful national park. This seems like big business, so be prepared for a busy, commercial enterprise, although we are really glad to have visited the park.

“Not nearly as great as people hype it up to be.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

The Tripadvisor reviews made it sound like it’s a place where heaven comes down and touches earth. I think its more like an exploited tourist trap. Something good was found and is now overrun by people trying to squeeze as much cash out of it as possible. Can’t say it is something I would excitedly recommend for the price.

“Best thing I saw during my stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

You really gotta do this if you have the opportunity. The experience is awesome and the pictures breathtaking. You can take the speedboat (there were cheaper tours with normal boats not it's not worth it), see all the rocks, lagoon, snorkel, maybe kayaking to desert beaches. All in all a wonderful day.

“Satisfactory Views with Minor Overcrowding”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

It's approx 45minutes speedboat ride out from Bophut, Ko Samui beach. Many rock formations and emerald coloured water with plenty of fishes. However, water is a little murky and variety of fishes are lacking. Plenty of sea urchins, so be careful of each foot while snorkelling and where you place your feet, as their resting place can be pretty close to the surface.

The rest of the National Park where the tour operators bring tourists to are the kayaking and swimming spots, where incredibly the water is a little clearer. The waters are calm and warm(in September), but overcrowded. Worth a visit for the kayaking, not so much for the snorkelling.

“DON'T MISS IT when visiting Koh Samui”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

I chose speedboat tour from Lomprayah to Angthong National Marine Park from Koh Samui. The first visit was Koh(=island) Wow's area where you got a chance to dive and see the beautiful corals and fish. Then we visited the Lagoon, which you have to climb the high stairs, tiring but it's worth it. The last visit was Koh WuaTaLab, if you got a chance to climb the stone mountain to see wonderful view from different view points. It took me 40 minutes to arrive the second level view-point. I didn't manage to go up to the higher level, but it was already wonderful! The food and drinks are a bit overpriced for Thai standard, but cheap you come from the countries where Dollars/Euro is used. There is a possibility to stay overnight at Koh WuaTaLab, but you should be aware of the mosquitoes.
