“Great resort, friendly stuff and beautifully landscape, locates in the middle of Bophut beach, walk to Fisherman Village.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013 via mobile

We, 4 total, booked packages flight (Bangkok Airways) & room (original was Ibis) thru Zuji.com travel agent (but had the worst service when dealing with the people at the Zuji office, NEVER EVER AGAIN TO USE THEM. I made one character spelling error during booking, they charged me $110 US dollar penalty for the amendment, but did nothing to amend my ticket after taking my money, I ended up stood at the airport for an hour & 15 min to take care of the matter myself with a great help from the Bangkok Airways clerk. I swear and am taking a legal action to demand my money back from Zuji.com ). Anyway I got only one room for 2, so I must find another hotel close to Ibis on Bophut, we ended up with the Peace Resort, and turned out it was a great choice- a room included buffet breakfast. A typical breakfast nothing fancy but a lot of choices, also you can have the egg cook to your liking: omelet, egg white or sunny sided up, boiled...the staff are very friendly (had read plenty reviews from other travelers talking about unfriendly employees at other resorts, well, you won’t find that here :) The restaurant setting was most appeal to me more than the food itself, if u can get a table along the beach side. The resort lobby decor is fine but the path heading to your room is gorgeous, the garden is so tranquil, the birds and flowers! Our room is a bungalow style and surrounded with tropical vegetation, that truly takes your soul away from the busy city! The room is decorated in the Thai style and with a pyramid roof ceiling and glass sink set on top of a tree trunk vanity, very unique (see some candid pictures uploaded to the site), but the faucet filter did fall out from the tap. I recalled reading reviews from other travelers talked about the air con vent directly pointed right at your head; so I used the bottle opener provided in the room (a perfect tool, really) to turn the vent toward the side of the wall, so the air will bounce back into the room, without blowing right at you. As for the loud noise from the air con, well, just be thankful that we got air con. One thing can be improved is the swage smell in the bathroom right after shower; but the smell seemed to go away after 2 days. I am sure if I were to request for a room change, there should not be a problem since the resort is not full anyway. The pool got lot of chairs and were available (during early March) and saw big huge pillows laid around the beach for hotel guests (no other resorts providing this feature for guests, nice touch. I had walked down toward the northwest side of the end of Bophut beach). Unfortunately, the new gym was not opened yet while our staying, it looks very nice though from the outside. Anyway, as most travelers wish that wifi should be free for guest. Ibis does and I did walk to Ibis to use their wifi since my other family members stayed there. Would I stay at Peace Resort hotel again, YES! you can beat the location, walk to F.V about 15 min or less depending on which entrance to the village. you can cut through any hotel down to the beach.

I stayed at the peace resort for one week for honeymoon the location was great I had to move from another hotel in mai mom which was horrible. Put the peace resort staff were so friendly and we were well looked after the beach was amazing as was the food. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and I will go back again.

“beautiful grounds”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

The room was amazing, however my review is about the internet as well as the breakfast price. It's simply archaic that the wifi is not included, there are so many other beautiful resorts on the island, in quieter areas that offer it in the price of the room. We actually had one of the rooms against the back wall, not a bungalow. i actually liked it better than a bungalow because you had more privacy.

“Great resort does what it says on the tin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

We did 5 days here at the end of Feb 2013 in a deluxe bungalow the resort was great breakfast gave a good choice. I must say the bungalow didn't have much room for our clothes so the sofa acted as my wardrobe while the wife used the small wardrobe. Apart from this it was fine, good air con, kettle for tea and coffee and a TV with a few English channels. We couldn't use the gym as it was being moderised which was a shame as having a gym was a requirement when we booked.
A tip for anyone staying the hotel, they do a this night twice a month which comprises of a meal, a Thai group and traditional dance. It costs a fortune, the food was poor and the entertainment mediocre at best so I'd say give it a miss for what it cost you could eat for 3 days elsewhere.
Talking of elsewhere if you walk out of the hotel turn right the very first restaurant is cheap and the food great.
The beach is okay but the sand is course gravel which strips the soles of your feet of any flesh so wear flip flops, also the sand dips into the sea at a big angle so it gets deep very quickly.
These things are tiny grumbles the resort and rooms are very clean the pool is great. You feel safe at night and it is peaceful. Should you want more action just turn left out of the hotel and walk up to the fisherman's village where its a little more lively with a big choice of bars and restaurants.
We would definitely comeback here.

Room Tip: Ask for one on the beach as ours was set back and make sure the air con works as some don't.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Situated on Bophut beach in the northeast of the island, the Peace Resort is a newly refurbished, friendly bungalow style resort, ideal for a relaxing family getaway. The style is best described as contemporary Thai with the architecture following local traditions, but a transformation in 2008 has given a more up-scale look and feel while the prices have remained very reasonable. The resort is well laid out in small buildings, ensuring a more intimate, human scale, while the grounds are tranquil and green, with a restaurant that spills out onto the beach. ... more   less
