Stayed for 2 weeks of our 3 week holiday in Koh Samui late January 2013 through to early Feb 2013. Was the best hotel of the two we stayed in and we would definitely recommend this place.
Our room was a private bungalow set in lush gardens - no chance of being disturbed by neighbours. We were impressed with the room from the outset - it was elegantly but simply decorated for comfort - lots of cushions. Large comfortable bed with mattress topper and big fluffy pillows. Rooms well equipped with extras like a beach bag for use on the beach, flip flops and slippers for around the room, as well as the usual items like a room safe, air conditioning, hairdryer etc. Even had a universal plug converter. The hotel really had thought of everything you might need. All the bungalows had a private terrace area with table and chairs for sitting out. Loved the knocker on the bungalow shaped like a woodpecker. Housekeeping also left fresh mini bananas in the room. Looked like the pictures which was good as I am quite fussy about hotels!
Room was clean and well maintained by the friendly housekeeping staff. Any minor problems we had (e.g. working out how to use the safe etc), were immediately attended to by the most efficient reception staff. We would make a phone call to reception and within minutes someone would appear at the door. Truly great service.
On my birthday, the hotel even surprised me with a birthday cake (without anyone telling them - they had noticed when they took a copy of my passport)! I was so touched and impressed by the attention to detail.
Hotel also has a nice big pool, a great bar serving freshly prepared cocktails, and a stretch of beach with clean comfortable sun loungers. Hotel ran a barbecue on the beach - good chicken skewers, spring rolls etc, or you can try the good food from the beach sellers.
We went as a couple and there were quite a few couples there, but there were also quite a few families - there was a children's pool, an activity room for children and we also noticed a playground area. There was a good mix of people at the place. So hotel would be a suitable venue for anyone really.
Location was ideal for us - a five minute walk from Fisherman's village, providing great shopping, restaurants and bars. Hotel was so well equipped you don't need to go out, but if you like venturing out, there is a good choice of local restaurants.
The hotel spa is in a separate building across the road from the hotel. Didn't try it, but looked like they had a good range of treatments. There was also a pool side massage sala which offers very reasonably priced massages (again, I didn't try).
Hotel was reasonably priced and we felt we got good value for our money staying there.
Really couldn't fault this place at all. Would recommend and would go back.
