Hotel is is lovely, with excellent and friendly staff. Food is also good.

It is situated on a hillside, with individual villas accessed by lots of steps to and from reception or down to the beach / restaurant and bar. Definitely not for those with walking problems.

The hotel is miles away from the main / busy resort of Chaweng, and is approximately 30 minutes on the shuttle bus.
You need to book the bus in advance as places are limited and its books up very quickly and a taxi will be fairly expensive if you have to book one every night.

This is a couples resort for people who just want total relaxation and to get away from it all. The private beach is small and there is very little to do there. Not recommended for young singles (which is what we were), we would have been better suited in the sister hotel - Central Chaweng Beach resort.

I was a little fearful as my experience at another Central hotel was not the best (one of the worst in fact).

My fears were quickly laid to rest from the moment I was greeted at the lobby. We were treated to fresh coconut juice and wet cold towels. There were minor communication issues with staff along the way of our stay but their friendliness and helpfulness outweighed any of these problems.

There was a waiting period of about 2 hours for our rooms to be prepared because we had booked 4 rooms. Staff insisted that it would be most convenient for us to have villas close to each other. As a result, they upgraded our rooms.

The villas are scattered along a hillside, so be prepared for some hiking. The view from our deck was magnificent.
The rooms itself were neat and tidy. The only maintenance issue was that the phone was not functioning for about a day as a result of the thunderstorm the night before.

The buffet breakfast wasn't the best but it was good enough. Regular servicing of the restaurant during the daytime isnt so efficient though. It took about 20minutes for my pesto bread to arrive.

The pools at the top are cleaner than the main one and also a lot less busy.

The free shuttle to Lamai and Chaweng can save you 300baht-600baht per trip. It's well worth booking it in advance.
There is also scooter/motorbike hire available. I don't recommend it unless you are confident in riding in reckless traffic.

When you stay at Central Samui village, you are entitled to use the facilities (free towel and pool usage) of Central resort in Chaweng.

Overall, I had an enjoyable experience. I would do it all over again.

We got a bargain deal on the price beacause of the season, and for the the price we paid we got a great stay.
The villas are scattered over a hill, so you need to be fit to stay at this resort. Several pool areas and you can borrow canoes etc for free. The beach was a disappointment, you couldn´t use it at all, muddy and with rocks every where! The hotel offers a shuttlebus service to it´s other hotel at chaweng but the bus gets full early and then you have to stay at the hotel or pay a taxi.
The restaurant was nice and very romantic by the ocean.
There is a butterfly farm across the street from the hotel so there´s butterflies all over the resort.
Maybe the beach is better at other seasons, but I doubt it. So if you get a bargain price go there for the luxury and standard of the villas as a romantic get away.

Booked with hotel because Virgin had stressed snorkelling opportunity. In fact water cloudy inside reef, no fish.
This is a hotel either for young families or for couples who want a quiet holiday - it is not for those who want nightlife. Very good value for money, Virgin charged £20 B & B. Half Board £15 = good 4 course dinner. Food overall very good with rock lobster and 8" long prawns. It is in an isolated position on S.E. of island. There is a free bus 4 times a day to the more luxurious Central Hotel on Chaweng beach where all the shops & life are.
The hotel has a good private beach with nice restaurant overlooking, marvellous tropical vegetation everywhere. Rooms rather basic, especially bathroom. But a large number of steps from restaurant to reception, so not for disabled or elderly. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially the female ones, males need training to look for guests' needs.
Good 20 minute boat trip to Coral islands for good snorkelling.
Trip to Koh Tao by speedboat 1 1/2 hours - very rough, not for queasy tummies. Poorish snorkelling. Koh Nang attractive 3 islands linked by sandbars - poor snorkelling.
Koh Samui overall not attractive : development building site with 1 million tourists a year.
