We dove 2 days with Dive Academy on our recent trip to Samui, and we'd highly recommend them to anyone looking to do some diving on their trip.
Before we even booked, they were great about responding to emails super-fast. The quick and thorough responses made booking with Dive Academy an easy choice; in fact, we'd only been planning to dive one day, but after seeing how nice they were over email, we decided to go two days!
Our first day we dove Sail Rock. The boat was fairly crowded that day, I guess because Sail Rock is the popular dive site there. It was almost too crowded, but the ride wasn't too long. We dove with a brother/sister pair and the dive master that day. We're used to diving with resorts in the Caribbean, where you're often in groups of 8-12, so 4 people was a wonderful change of pace. One in our party had a few hundred dives, but his sister and us were about at the same experience level, too, which was nice. Sail rock proved to be a very pretty dive site and we enjoyed it a lot. The boat was also well-stocked with water, soda, and sandwiches for lunch.
The next day we went to Ko Tao, which was a nicer experience. The boat ride was longer, but the boat was much less crowded, which was nice. It was just us and Claire this time, which was also great; we were able to really move at a comfortable pace. Lunch was more substantial that day, and delicious. The dive sites (Green Rock and Twins) were gorgeous, and Claire knew a few really cool spots to show us.
Overall, we found the equipment to be excellent, the boats more or less comfortable, and the whole experience quite nice. Claire and the rest of the team are focused on safety and fun, and everything is clear and easy to follow. Even on the first day and the crowded boat, there was no confusion, which is rare. We had a great experience here and can't recommend them highly enough!
