“Amazing hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

What a wonderful place. The view from the room is perfect. Staff were enthusiastic that every demands will be satisfied. I had asked staff for full moon party information, they help me to arrange the car transfer and boat ticket. It cost 1700 THB per person (Conrad the farest place from the full moon party).

Spent 4 nights here as Hilton Gold member. Used free nights for a couple of nights and did the points and pay for the other 2. The points and pay was a decent value (38K points + USD 230).

As for gold amenity, there isn't an Executive Lounge. Breakfast is included at Zest and we got 2 drink coupons which can only be used at Azure or the Main Lobby Lounge (next to Zest). Drinks were quite blah and I think it would make sense to give Gold and Diamond members a bottle of wine or champagne instead of these drink coupons.

The hotel is about 45 minutes to 1 hour from the airport depending on traffic. Pre arranged transport with Samui Explorer for 1700 THB roundtrip prior to leaving for Thailand. Highly recommend Samui Explorer and Michelle Pennington. Very responsive to emails. Also included a stop at TESCO if you need to buy anything and there are a couple of banks there if you need currency exchange.

We had Room 223-last room on the end which allowed us plenty of privacy. The room doesn't have direct view of the sunset or the 5 islands but if it is privacy you want, this is the room for you.

The housekeeping service was excellent. 3 lovely ladies came in and clean our room. The first day, I asked about the dragon fruit in our room and she sat there and cut it up for me. Now that's service! They also asked what type of fruit we liked and brought us mangos. At night, there is turn down service with a different type of cookie. Have to be careful with the cookie. If you don't eat it, put it in the fridge to avoid ants.

The fridge isn't the kind where when you open or move something, there is a charge. We were able to fit some of own stuff in there. Also, I think if you asked, they would clear it out for you.

Overall, service is very good. Buggies came within minutes. We ordered room service most nights and for lunch. Food comes quick. However, there are ants and you have to be careful when leaving food in your room. We always called to have the plates removed and whenever they left it outside our door, there would be a trail of ants.

We enjoyed eating in our room and there isn't an additional fee for room service which was awesome. Food, while not Thailand cheap, wasn't too expensive. Our lunches would be around $40 and dinners around $60. Once we ate Zest. Had 2 entrees, appetizers, couple of soft drinks for $80. Service fee of 10% and tax of 7% is added to everything.

Breakfast at Zest - LOTS of options from pastries, cereal, thai noodles, rice, waffle/pancake station, egg station. The Thai eggs benedict is very good there. I'm saying this as I'm staying at the Renaissance Phuket currently and theirs is not as good. Lots of different fruit juices and smoothies (mango juice excellent). They will make iced coffee for you. I also liked how they changed up the dishes every day so it isn't boring. If you like something, eat up because most likely it won't be there tomorrow. I say this because day 1, there was this really good cucumber and mushroom salad that was so good and I was looking forward to having it the next day and they didn't make it.

Azure is outdoor seating next to the pool and we went there for lunch one day for pizza. We did not try Jahn as we were happy with room service.

We hadn't planned to spend Songkran but it turned out we were there for Thai New Year. The resort had a little parade and some activities which was quite cute.

As everyone knows, there isn't much of a beach.

We didn't take the trip to Chawang offered complimentary for guests staying 4 nights or more (1pm and 4pm departure with 6pm return). Didn't look like we were missing much. We were just content staying at the hotel and enjoying our own private pool.

WIFI is complimentary and very fast throughout the resort.

Other than feeling that some folks at Zest wasn't too friendly, we really enjoyed the resort and the room. Probably won't be returning as we rarely go back to the same place twice but I would recommend it to friends.

I enjoy reading and writing reviews. If you found this review helpful, please give me a helpful vote.

Conrad Koh Samui has been exquisitely planned on a 200 meter cliff and the views are simply some of the best mother nature has to offer. Kudos to the team that build this amazing place.

We went there as a family of 4 - kids are 5 & 7 and had a 2 bedroom villa allocated to us. The villa is again outstanding , well planned with a massive private pool and again - breathtaking 200 degree views of the ocean and beyond ! Paradise indeed for the 8 nights we spent here.

Bedrooms are at th slower level where the pool is complete with a patio by the pool and sun beds for 4.

The food at the restaurants was also amazing . The service levels are some of the best you will come across in the world and especially Asia which already has very high standards. Even when we ordered the food at our villa - the quality was very good. Breakfasts has some of the best spread you will see.

The common pool is also well planned and huge overlooking the beach - again with beautiful views and sunsets over a nice drink. The pol side restaurant also has great food.

They have a small kids club which is understandable given the small size of the hotel - only about 120 rooms / villas.

We simply could not fault the Hotel or the service standards in any way - this is a world class resort.

The hotel is lead by a Swiss General manager Stefano Ruzza and ably assisted by a German (deputy GM I think) and the Swiss precision and the German efficiency were on full display at how well the place is run and maintained.

From restaurant staff to room cleaners to TV technicians to gardeners to security staff - the high quality of service and hospitality was just all around.

Simon - the German deputy GM helped personally to plan our trips around Koh Samui. The Hotel limousine service is the best way to explore the Island rather than deal with the local Taxi mafia which is only about 20% cheaper than what Hotels charge. Yes the Hotels rates are high - but for 20% savings, I was not about to loose my peace of mind by taking local taxi's.

Bird (yes bird is his name !) was our driver for the day we explored the Island and he was courteous, knowledgeable, discrete and friendly for a family to really have a fun time together.

We went to the Six senses Hotels - dining on the rock for a 10 course meal (yes 10 course) which was exquisite and also had a lovely time at The Library Hotel. We went quad bike riding, Go Karting, went on elephant rides wight he kids and enjoyed every bit of it.

Koh Samui is nice - but I would not be repeat visitor to the Island as we prefer to explore new places.

The Conrad Koh Samui resort though is truly a delightful experience and one of the best resorts we have been to worldwide.

Simply a great resort, run by great managers and staff having a super sense of hospitality and courtesy.

Simply faultless and what a wonderful and memorable 8 day break with the family.

Highly , highly recommended and Thank you to everyone at Conrad and to Stefano and Simon in particular for getting us there and then looking after us with such warmth to make is a special break for us.

We can't stop talking about it and hope to send a lot of our friends there to experience the Conrad Koh Samui touch in person.

Thank you once again.

Room Tip: Every room has a breathtaking view with complete privacy.

We attended a wedding at the Conrad in April 2014.

Everything was beyond expectations - the staff and service was impeccable and the food absolutely to die for. Thank you to the staff for providing such a seamless service so that we could enjoy the party.

The resort looked beautiful with the most stunning views. If our budget stretches we will be staying here next time we're in Samui!

There is only one place to host a wedding on Koh Samui and that is at the Conrad. My husband and I had a wedding for 45 people in April 2014. This venue is truly remarkable. What will hit you first is the jaw dropping view as you and your guests arrive. It is one of the best views in all of Koh Samui and the photos on the hotel website do not do it justice.

We had organised our wedding from the UK and in the 6 month lead up to the wedding had been sending photos to both Stefano the hotel manager and Chat at Bliss Events as examples of some of the details we desired. What was so astonishing was that every photo I had sent to The Conrad whether it be my wedding cake, bouquet or table decorations, every item we received on the day was exactly picture perfect as I had requested.

Prior to flying out to Koh Samui we had conference calls with Stefano the manager and on arrival in Koh Samui we had a wedding pre-meet with all of the Conrad staff from service staff, the chef and the wedding planning company Bliss Events. It was the pre-meeting in particular that we were so impressed with as we felt that everything was already under control and that we did not need to manage it ourselves.

We decided to have our wedding ceremony on the beach and then move our guests up to the Aow Thai room for the reception. We had a fleet of buggies to drive our guests from one location to another which catered for all age groups and added to the unique service that this hotel can offer.

The service that both ourselves and our guests received was seven star! Nothing was too much trouble. In fact I can remember that some of the basic items we had asked our bridal party to take care of, the Conrad staff offered to take care of so that they could relax too.

At our evening reception it seemed like there were at least two hotel staff to every guest. Whether it was topping up drinks, bringing cold towels to keep guests cool or replacement napkins, every detail was taken care of and every one of our guests commented on how the staff here go the extra mile to ensure every guests needs are taken care of.

Now let's get onto the food. We had to chosen the premium bar-b-cue. Nothing could quite prepare me for another jaw dropping view. The presentation was amazing and there was enough food for double the number of guests. All of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. Again both the head Chef and hotel managers Stefano, Simon and Ron were leading from the front and serving our guests and discussing every dish, something that adds to the service you receive from the Conrad.

So was there anything the Conrad could do better? No there simply wasn't, the staff here way surpassed our expectations and created memories that will stay with us -and all of our guests - for a lifetime.

Just had an awesome 3 night stay at Conrad Koh Samui. Worth every penny we pay. Beside the sunset and seaview, which is as good as everyone has mentioned, we are very happy with the services and activities organized by the staff (we tried complimentary boat trip, kayak, and yoga class). Also great wine and dine in the resort - Thai food at Zest is amazing; everyday happy hour at the pool bar as well as Zest. Very impressed with the private pool - guess all the guests are so impressed that nobody goes to the public pool... Every room has great view but I would prefer rooms on the left half of the resort (if you face the ocean). Level 2 is most convenient - easy access to gym, beach, pool bar, Zest, concierge desk by foot. Only downside is that it took 40-60 mins to the downtown subject to traffic condition. Daily shuttle bus is only complimentary for those who stays 4 nights or longer, but in the end think they just let it go without charge.

The view and the "Villas" are fantastic. One of the rare hotel rooms, where everything is as it should be, from the lightings control & placement, bathroom layout & amenities, wonderfully comfortable bed, the private pool overlooking the sea.... the professionalism of the house keeping, and all staff make you feel you are really welcome. Not a greeting where they were told to do, but that comes from the heart. We have not felt like this in Thailand for a long long time. The downside is the very small beach, and people afraid of height should be aware as the resort is on the mountain, so quite steep & hilly but this makes the view amazing and probably the best place to watch sunset over some cocktails.
