We stayed for one night before moving on to another resort for a wedding. It was a lovely garden setting and very quiet after being in Bangkok. We received an upgrade due to the villa we had booked ( I suspect) being rented out to long term renters. The villas are advertised as long or short term stays on the board outside. The house had everything we needed and very clean. We had problems with one airconditioner where our son was to sleep but we moved him into the large bedroom and that was fine. We did let them know it was not working properly so hopefully they had it fixed. The pool was sparkling clean and a great escape from the heat. They even supplied floating toys to relax or play with. It is very close to the beach (across the road) but it is not what I would call a swimming beach as it is not very clean. Lamai is the place to go for a great beach. No shops in the area that we could see, although you will find a few restaurants. We tried one on the sand on the beach and it was really cheap and yummy. This is an ideal place if you want to relax. You will need to hire a scooter or car as it is a bit of distance from most places to try and walk. You can have the office arrange you a car for a price and they will even pick you up from the airport really early in the morning. Taxis etc on Samui are not cheap like in Bangkok. They do not use the meter and you will need to haggle for a better price, although don't expect too much of a reduction. The open taxis with the canopy are fun. All in all a friendly, clean, quiet place to stay.
