“Yummy seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

The food here was very good..Please order the seafood off the menu rather than picking it by weight as it is cheaper. However we did order the lobster from the fresh seafood selection, which was fresh and delicious. The service is very good as well..we were in Samui for four nights and ate here twice. The only negative of this place is there are mosquitoes so I would reccomend using some repellant.

“Terrible!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013 via mobile

Myself and a few friends recently experienced the worst customer service and arrogant waiters at this very resteraunt!
The food is expensive and of poor quality. You are harrased to pay your bill from the moment you swallow your last mouthful! Upon walking to the bar to order a drink, as their table service is non existent I was abruptly told that there is "no standing at the bar".
Overall experience was disastrous! This place is an embarrassment to the fine food and quality service I experienced everywhere else!

“Not as bad....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

Being at the main road in Chaweng, the non smoking tables are far enough set to the back to avoid the
continuos "we will rock you" via speakers from the Muathai trucks.
It's also fun having this huge wooden boat as decoration in the restaurant.
Service is slow but food was ok. We had a Sole Florentine and a chicken cordon blue, which was done quite well (incl. the presentation) for Thailand.
Value is good, being a "hotel restaurant" with the added ++ (service & Tax) 2 Singa Beers, 2 watermelon shakes and the 2 mains came to a total of B1200 incl tax etc.!

“Go for the (right) food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

I regularly eat at this restaurant as it is one of the best traditional Thai seafood places on the Chaweng strip (which is completely devoid itself of traditional Thai food).

The service is hit or miss and mostly miss: the staff seem busy doing something except serving you. I think this is mostly lack of service know how of the staff rather than intent to be rude.

And there are mosquitos (you are in SE Asia of all places) so bring repellent. This isn't the restaurant's fault. Of course, they could spray DDT everywhere to get rid of them but do you want to eat in such a place?

The food itself is quite good and prepared well -- take one look at the open kitchen in the back and you'll see an army of chefs grilling, steaming, frying, etc. This is always a good sign of freshness.

To get the best food:
- don't get the spiny lobster: I don't think they're native and they won't know how to prepare it.
- do get the slipper lobster as they are local
- get blue crab only if its blue: not red which means its pre cooked which happens occasionally
- do get the clams
- do get the fish

Let them suggest a way to prepare it, a Thai way, and you can't go wrong.

This is not a cheap restaurant: about THB 1500 per person, but get the right food and its worth it.
