DeNaga is a small boutique hotel. It has restaurants etc. directly in front of the property. The night market is about 10 blocks from the hotel. A cab is a dollar to the market or almost anyplace. The staff is sweet and helpful. The rooms are large and the entire hotel is spotless. They are constantly cleaning. The room has a large window, nice sized bathroom, and is very clean. The price is very low for what you get. The breakfast is in an air conditioned restaurant and excellent. We would return here again.

The hotel was magnificent with Thai Lanna interior design detail. The room I stayed with my husband and 2 kids was very comfortable, clean and comes with an LCD TV. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. Even my kids made aquantance with some of the staffs. De Naga is just 3 minutes walk to the famous Sunday Market and about 10 minutes walk to the Night Bazaar. But if you are travelling with kids, get a Tuk-Tuk to get to the night bazaar. Breakfast was simple but nice. My kids love the hotel and I found that it's hard for them to say goodbye to the hotel and their staffs.

Conveniently located at the city gate and surrounded by nice pubs and eathouses. This hotel amazed me with its friendly (and pretty) staff, beatiful decor and perfectly clean rooms. And this at a reasonable price.

We stayed in 6 hotels in Thailand and this is without any doubt the best value for money we encountered.

Check for deals on their site.

Wow what a beautiful hotel from the moment you arrive until your checkout you are welcomed as friends. The staff are there for your every need.

We booked through Asia Rooms and it was our most expensive hotel @ $85 per night including a lovely Buffet Breakfast + they always offered you eggs bacon ham etc.

My son was completely spoilt for what was to come in Cambodia, our room was beautiful with modern elegant furnishing.

I would highly recommend the De Nago, there was a little Italian just around the corner which had the most amazing Pizza's this side of Naples owned and run by an Italian

We just returned from De Naga and WE LOVED IT.

The guest house is amazing, the detail of the decor is not to be believed (all special order I heard from the staff). It's Asian influence everywhere. The staff was incredible, all of them! We enjoyed the small but delicious breakfasts, the small but comfortable pool area. We really loved the room (pls note no extra beds can be added but the price was reasonable and we were able to get an adjoining room for our teen). The area is at the Sunday Market, at the end of the drive is a great Italian restaurant, a Creperie and a good foot massage. Took a Tuk Tuk to night market. Close to many Wats. Highly recommend this small hotel! Peeked in on the Largest suite and was blown away by the decor!

Opened in December of 2007 and located just off the moat that surrounds the older part of the city of Chiang Mai, the De Naga Hotel is convenient to many temples and markets, including the Night Bazaar. The 2,600 baht rate (about $80 at the time) included two daily breakfasts. The hotel is beautiful inside and out, with great attention to detail and, set back off the main road, is quiet and peaceful.

Best of all, the staff is exceptionally gracious, well-trained and obliging. Young, good-looking and well-mannered, each was likely selected for their warmth and character. By the time we left, we felt we were leaving family.

The one drawback was the room's intermittent wi-fi connection, but connection in the lobby area is fine.

The hotel's restaurant was quite good. Breakfast was modest compared to some opulent Thai breakfast buffets, but the gourmet dinners were delicious, and the chef included a free appetizer each time we dined there. We will definitely stay at the De Naga if we visit Chiang Mai again in the future.

  • Liked — The lovely staff.
  • Disliked — Spotty internet connection.

We stayed on two occasions in March 2008 and regard it as a great hotel for the price - THB $2,900 per day including service & tax - that less than Australian $100 per day including breakfast. It only opened in January 2008 and when we stayed the 4th floor rooms were still being fitted out.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety and we also ate there for lunch which was fine.

Wireless internet was great and free with a strong signal although the fact that the router was just outside our door probably helped. They seem to have multiple routers so you have to be careful that you pick the one closest to your room. There were two computers in the foyer that were free to us as well.

There is a small pool and spa which looked good and had a bar overlooking it.

Perhaps this is a opening deal but we received free bottled water & soft drink / beer in our room fridge every day.

The staff were very friendly and had good english.

We have previously stayed at D2 & the Sofitel but this beats both of them.

  • Liked — central location & fast internet
  • Disliked — problems with bathroom shower taps - but fixed when we told the staff
