“Location and Relaxation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

Well located in the Old City. Quite ambiance with lovely cool salt water infinity pool to relax. Large rooms, relaxing outlook over large water feature. Excellent bathroom with separate shower and large circular bath. AC quite and fully adjustable, can leave on to sleep. Good breakfast in nice setting. Dining room located next to pool and meals are adequate for the easy option night. Great fruit shakes in the dining room or by the pool. We highly recommended the hotel. The only negatives (and the reason for not giving a maximum score) during our stay were the poor quality of the bath towels and the need for management to provide additional staff for cleaning due to the large bathrooms.

Room Tip: Select rooms greater than xx3 to ensure you don't overlook the staircase of breakfast area

Was one of many hotels in a 5 week SE Asia adventure with friends. While the outside is nondescript, inside is well set out, quient and - puns aside, very serene. Pool and quiet areas around pool (including wonderful Internet/library) are very comfy. Excellent breakfast; ok resturant for dinner (better in city). Very helpful staff. Good walking distance to main streets inside and outside city walls. (Outside and south has great shopping); inside has super night market.) Participating in Wednesday morning blessing ceremony recommended. Very close walk to several of the major temples - a "full battery" day for the photo buff.

This hotel is a lovely retreat whilst still being close to everything. The rooms live up to the 'serene' name - the jacuzzi sized bath is wonderful and decor is simple but stylish. My first room was upstairs and had a pleasant view overlooking the leafy courtyard. I went trekking for a few days and when I returned, the only room available was on the ground floor right at the end of the corridor, which was older looking and darker - would recommend requesting the upstairs rooms over the courtyard instead. The location is excellent - it is 5 min walk to the Sunday walking market, 10 min walk to various temples and 15 min walk to the night bazaar (they also provide complimentary 7pm shuttle). The service is very good - reception were very helpful with queries about how to get to places, provide a reliable service for keeping valuables if you go trekking and the tour desk provided good information about cooking classes (and many other attractions). There is free wifi and also a library room with terminals with free internet access.

We were guests at this hotel for three days. The rooms were very nicely decorated, the setting quiet, and the pool and restaurant were both excellent.
Rooms are large, very quiet, and had great air conditioning.
Each morning the breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Kim, one of the receptionists at the front desk was particularly friendly and went out of her way to be informative and helpful.
The location of the hotel was great. We walked to the amazing night market on Sunday evening, many of the temples in the city were within walking distance as the hotel is situated within the walls of the "old city".

This is a nice and quiet boutique hotel in a large but very interesting city. It is on the large side of boutique hotels (38 rooms), so the service is less personalized than in other boutique hotels. However, the personnel is very polite and the hotel has a really good small pool area where you can relax after the trip. The rooms are large, almost new and very well equiped. I strongly recommend this hotel for Changmai.

An excellent hotel which serves great Thai food some of the best we have tasted in Thailand. They alter the buffet breakfast slightly each day so that doesn't get repetitive during a long stay. Rooms and toiletries are well equipped and a good size, you could hold a small party in the bath tub. This hotel was above expectations and excellent value. The staff are very attentive and freindly.

The Bodhi Serene is a tranquil refuge from the normal busy, noisy day to day activity in Chiang Mai. We stayed here for 3 periods between side trips to Chiang Rai and Luang Prabang. They kept some of our luggage safe for us each time we made our side trips. The staff were always friendly and eager to help with any question or tour advice. We stayed in a deluxe room on the ground floor with a small balcony facing the central garden area. The rooms are large with an air conditioner and are kept clean and tidy and the beds are firm. There is a safe and video player as well as complimentary water and tea and coffee making facilities as well as wifi availability. The breakfast has a minimal buffet selection as well as eggs which are made fresh to order (fried, scrambled, omelets). They also have cereals, toast, waffles, pancakes and a mixture of pastries and fresh fruit. The pool is quite large and there is a large under cover seating area nearby. They also have a library with PC’s for hotel guests to use. They have a complimentary shuttle bus to the night market but you need to book as there are limited places. The hotel is located within a 10 minute walk to the Saturday Walking Market and to the Sunday Walking market. We also made extensive use of the red bus and tuk-tuk which frequently drive by the hotel. There are many laundry places nearby as well.

Room Tip: Rooms with a balcony looking out over the central courtyard are a great place to sit and have a G &a...
