“This hotel doesn't want guests!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

It would be nice to be able to write a review about the standard of this hotel, but apparently the staff do not want people to stay here, so I am only able to comment on the poor service!

Despite several attempts to book a room with this hotel, I am yet to get a response as to the availability of rooms. I have used the booking form on the website, and emailed them through their 'contact us' page, 3 weeks and 1 week ago respectively.

Very disappointing.

Room Tip: Book somewhere else!

Stayed here for our last 2 nights after our motor bike trip of North Thailand before flying home . The location is good, room clean value for money: dble bed, air con, cable TV, pool, elevator, opening windows (Wi-Fi in room is extra). Rooms are spacious and quiet. There are also some good eating places near by.

A 20 year old hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are large with air-conditioners that are the original units when the hotel was built!
Small bathroom, but the shower is separate, so no wet floors.
The lobby has a small shop where you can buy snacks and even sunscreen. Restaurants & cafes nearby.
There is also a large pool available to guests.
I thought the rooms were a little overpriced considering the age of the hotel, but my overall stay was comfortable.

Don't be fooled by the ‘Free Wifi’ sign outside, just the lobby and every hotel has that. The only hotel I've seen in Thailand that charges for wifi in the room.
Very dangerous, slippery floor tiles by the swimming pool – wear sandals - no proper warning signs, which is negligent.
Otherwise - a clean and friendly hotel in good area.

The hotel is simple and clean and not especially elegant, but is very good value for money: double bed, air con, cable TV, pool, elevator, opening windows (WiFi in room is extra). Rooms are spacious and quiet (I requested a room at the back). There is no dining in the hotel, but there are numerous cafés and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Staff are nice and friendly. They do a good deal on the rate for extended stays.

Room Tip: Rooms are well off the street, but if you want no traffic noise at all even with open windows then r...

When you stay here you can't be thinking 5 star quality for B695 a night, which is what we paid for a double room. A dated but functional room with a/c and refrigerator. Friendly and helpful staff and great location. We drove our car so the large parking lot was important for us as many of the lower priced places don't offer parking. Free WiFi available in the lobby.

An older style of hotel which was up there once twenty-five years ago. Dated; which is its saving grace for those on a budget, it's great! Right in the heart of Old Chiangmai. Within walking distance to the night market, around the corner from the Sunday Street Market, and many famed Chiangmai's temples such as Wat Singh and the Tapae Gate.

The rooms could use modernisation but they are clean and many of the bathrooms have been renovated. There is cable TV and internet, a big swimming pool and a Cafe Wa Wee around the corner for those desperate for the taste of real coffee. Management and staff have always proven themselves to be friendly and helpful.

When I first went there nearly thirty years ago, it was one of the most popular hotels in central Chiangmai. It can't compete with the flashiness of the new wave of boutique hotels, but for those who want a good, clean and safe hotel at a great price ... it is is hard to beat.
