If you're looking for a place to chill out then this is the place for you. Lots of trees, fine swimming pool and large gardens to wander around. If however you want to go out and about we would recommend a hire car. It is possible to use taxis but you will find it expensive as it is 45 mins to Chiang Mai and a good hour to Doi Inthanon. Food is good and reasonably priced.

It's one of the nicest hotels I've been to. What I love about Kaomai Lanna is that it's green everywhere. I felt so relaxed and peaceful. It's not just a nicely decorated boutique hotel or resort that are plenty in Chiangmai. I went there with my family and all of us loved it!

the location of this hotel. it's quite far from ChiangMai town. i took about 45 minutes to get this hotel from the hotel transfer. My wife and i don't like to stay in crowed place so we chose this hotel to stay in our holiday. i think here is good for someone who like to stay in natural place. A lot of big trees, you can find here.

i like the time when my family and i stayed in swimming pool, i swam in pool while my wife and my son had sun bath on chairs . the pool is very good, i think. we had a great time in the afternoon. but need to be more careful during the sunset time. the mosquito really annoyed me.
my wife likes this hotel because she likes big tree, a nice staff and also a spa. i also do like the spa in this hotel.
i recommend this hotel for someone who wants casual, relax, natural style hotel. but i think here is not suitable for some people who wants a convenient place to go to the town, to go shopping in the department stores or pub, and also someone who likes luxury style.

We booked this place because of the reviews on this site, big mistake by us. I can not see any good reason why you would want to stay at this place while you are holidays. The place is in the middle of an outer Chiang Mai suburb next to a very noisy highway. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere and not in a good way. Not next to the mountain side as they claimed they were next to on their website. The food is very ordinary to say the best and as an added extra while dinning you have to fight of the huge mosquito's which are home grown in two big breeding ponds. One next to the main eating and check-in and the other near the day spa. The traffic noise while eating is really loud, you feel like you are at a truck stop, not much better in the rooms. You will not get a hot shower or bath at this place and they laugh at you when you tell them their is no hot water and say they will call someone about it. Further questions and then you find out their is no hot water except for 201. This was not great for our 1 year old baby.
The rooms are good, a little run down but they are good. If you stay here hire a car before you go so you can get around.
