“A Massage location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013 via mobile

Lots of foreigners here. Good selection of food for breakfast. From yogurt to Chinese soup rice. Restaurant staff were efficient, so are the front office staff. Its just a touristy centre. Ohhhh the hotel have free shuttle to the bus station and airport. Very convenient

If you're looking for a great, cheap hotel in a great location then I would definitely recommend Raming Lodge. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was the free buffet dinner we received on the first night- but it was free so can't really complain!
Complimentary Fresh fruit and juice was placed in fridge each day for us! We also received a free shuttle back to the airport! Staff were all extremely helpful- especially the staff at the front desk and the porters! Would return when back in Chiangmai!

Check in - No issues, we had requested two bedrooms with a joining door this was booked and ready for us when we checked in) Rooms are a little dated but large and clean (I looked at them five years ago, no changes) Each room was equipped with flat screen TV, mini bar and tea/coffee facilities.

Breakfast was good the norm asian style, eggs, and fruit.
We utilized the offer on the Spa which was a nice touch but I've had better massages outside for less money.
Pool is nice, located just outside the back of the hotel, with a small bar serving drinks and food on request.

Location of the hotel is great, its a short walk up the road to the night bazzar passing several bars and restaurants.

Overall very good

Room Tip: Good hotel with a great location.

Ok so to be honest the rooms are dark and the bathrooms look dirty, so its plus point is location only. We asked for double and got two singles pushed together, which isn't any good and not very comfortable.

The hotel also seems to attract western men using the services of escort girls (posh for prostitutes). We speak Thai and could listen to these girls trying to extract money from these guys, and they had taken over the pool. Don't bring your kids here!!

Room Tip: The rooms at the front side can hear the noise from the street

3rd stay at this hotel and would go back! Great central location, walk to night bazaar and walking streets. All staff lovely and willing to help, with one exception. The gentleman at the tour desk was rude and abrupt. (Just wait till one of the lovely women are in attendance and they will offer you every assistance!) cannot wait to go back!

Raming Lodge was recommended to us by friends. It was a great place to stay. The rooms were large, the food was good. The Location was perfect - 5 minute walk to the walled city and 10 minute walk to the night market. The staff was very helpful, never a problem with communicating in English. The internet was s-l-o-w! Email was fine but don't expect to do anything demanding much bandwidth.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a room away from the street. We were in 504 and it was perfect.

Our family stayed at The Raming Lodge for 3 nights before moving onto Chiang Rai. I wish we had skipped Chiang Rai and spent the extra time in Chiang Mai at the Raming Lodge. Our rooms were just beautiful and fitting to Thailand. I just loved the decor of the rooms and have to say that the bed was the biggest and the best that I have ever slept in in Asia, this was a welcomed relief after spending 10 nights sleeping in a rock hard bed in Phuket. The location was great and easy to get around, good laundry across the road. Breakfast was enjoyable with a good variety and staff were very friendly and helpful. If I come back to Chiang Mai I will defienetly stay here again. Thank you for a good experience.
