I just finished a week volunteering at ENP. I can honestly say I have no bad comments.
The park is built on the ideals of saving elephants from the abuse they experience in almost every other area of Thailand. Everyone should know about the "crush", and how it is used to abuse and crush the spirit of young elephants at all elephant camps as part of tradition.
ENP both educates you, gives you the ability to really help make a difference in their lives, and have some safe one on one contact with elephants on their terms.
I learnt a lot this week, and witnessed some magical moments. The staff and volunteer coordinators do everything in their power to look after the elephants, and make sure we have fun while working.
Anyone who loves these animals should go here, and not seek to ride them at elephant camps.
