“Hidden Oasis”

Yaang Come Village

We cannot praise our stay at this hotel enough. The staff were magnificent, polite, friendly and the service was impeccable from the warm welcome after a long journey fron the U.K with children to the personal goodbyes. The rooms are large with good bathrooms, a Lanna Thai style, set in very well kept grounds which are wonderful to return to after the bustling city. The pool is perfect, with adequate wooden loungers. Although there were only about twelve loungers we never had a problem getting one as most guests spend their time in Chiang mai enjoying the sights. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection eaten indoors or outside in an attractive eating area, again the service was excellent. The staff were attentive but never intrusive. The menu changed slightly every day and if my children wanted something specific which they had previously it was never too much trouble, they only had to ask and it was there. The hotel is perfectly situated, it really is a hidden oasis. It is tucked away from the road and the foliage absorbs any noise, it's hard to believe you are only a five minute walk away from the night market. Highly recommended.

This hotel is beautiful! It was so refreshing to stay in a traditional two storey building after spending many nights in high rise hotels. The service was excellent and we were delighted with our superior room on the first floor which was extremely comfortable with lovely views of the exotic gardens below. It was spotlessly clean and we had no trouble with mosquitoes. We loved the pool and really enjoyed feeling relaxed after a day of sightseeing. We thought the prices in the restaurant were quite fair and certainly able to compete with local restaurants nearby. The menu was quite varied and suited us very well. We were very happy with the location of the hotel, so close to the vibrant night markets and within walking distance of the old town, provided you are a good walker! We made use of the internet facilities available and were impressed with the service, which was better than many other hotels we stayed in. We would certainly stay there again and will recommend it to our friends.

“Very nice base in Chiang Mai”

Yaang Come Village

Apr 3, 2008

We had a three night staying at the hotel, and the outstanding aspect was how lovely a friendly all the staff were. Its in the heart of the city and very close to the night market. The hotel pool was a real highlight for my kids!
The room was nice but not amazing, and the food was fine and fairly priced.

This has the look and feel of a holiday inn but with some nice Thai touches. The consequence is that the rooms are rather dreary and you pay a high price for what you get. The single story that captures our stay three is the fact that the bathrooms in the hotel rooms have urinals - something I have never seen before, never realized that this was a problem for a lot of people, but if you are one of those people that wanted to have a hotel room with a urinal, then I would stay here. Otherwise, save some money and go to a much nicer hotel, like we did - the D2, which is fabulous.
