This was a fantastic end to a hectic 3 week stay in Thailand. It was a lovely relaxing spot in a good location. The staff were very helpful, really lovely. The rooms were beautiful, and I would highly recommend the mango and stick rice for breakfast!!
It did truly have a sleepy colonial feel...we will definately stay again!!!

  • Liked — The chilled out factor!
  • Disliked — Not really walking distance to anywhere

This was such a wonderful "oasis" hidden in the middle of such a bustling city. The owner was so gracious and welcoming, her staff was so helpful, the entire hotel was so beautiful..... we couldn't have chosen a better hotel. The authentic decor and overall ambiance of the inner courtyard was so relaxing and mystical.... it made you forget about all the traffic you fought against or all the hectic markets you just shuffled through!! What a glorious retreat, I highly recommend this hotel and will ALWAYS stay there if or when I return to Chiang Mai.

  • Liked — The authentic ambiance
  • Disliked — a little tricky to find on your own but all the locals knew how to get there.

Gorgeous, one of the most beautiful places I've stayed in for its authenticity, graciousness of the people who run this hotel, wonderful, killer cosmopolitans, decor was so pretty, antiques everywhere, beautiful courtyard, nice free internet room. I would change absolutely nothing about this hotel! The rooms were beautiful--red silk, dark wood, so peaceful after a day of running around for 14 hours!

  • Liked — It was so pretty and everyone there was so genuinely nice and accommodating--perfect
  • Disliked — not one bad word to say

This hotel was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful, the staff was so very hospitable and it felt like you were not in the middle of the silver district. To get to the night market, the staff will call a tuk tuk, which was very cheap. The breakfast was lovely. The only problem we had was that on Sundays, the main street is blocked off for the market. We did not know this, so instead of getting off at the hotel. the tuk tuk driver dropped us off a few blocks away. This was no problem, other then us trying to understand why we were being dropped off - we did not realize that was the street the hotel was on. Bonus, though, we were able to peruse the market and picked up some more trinkets to take with us.

Beautiful hotel indeed BUT..
1. NOt close to the center unless you wish to walk for 20 mins, further the road has very few tud tuc driving pass
2. Staff very kind BUT not at ALL useful
. COuld not direct me to a trekking company (only to the room where they have brochure which was not useful anyway!); and could not get me a tuc tuc to and back from the airport for a non rip off price (their contact asked for 180 bat, I tuc tuc I found on the street charged me 100 bat to drive me there, wait and come back...)
All in all v. beautiful but as a turist I would have preferred a more central location and more helpful staff.

  • Liked — Beautiful decor
  • Disliked — staff helpfulness and distance from the center
