“One of the best hotel I have ever stayed in.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

This is a wonderful hotel. It is just exquisitely designed. It is rare that one can feel so comfortable in a hotel in such a short time. I was there for two nights and I wished that I stayed longer.
In fact calling Rachamankha a hotel is totally wrong. We felt very much at home with all the private spaces that one could laze around.

The GM, Paul is just excellent too. He was a wealth of knowledge on Chiangmai.

I would certainly return for a longer stay in the future.

Always a favourite. Stylish, serene and peaceful in the heart of Chiang Mai. Excellent meals and attentive service. This is a stylish boutique resort.

They also host a great new year's party.

The decor is great and the place has been decorated with style.

This hotel had been on my "bucket list" for many years. What better time to stay than to celebrate my partners 50th birthday! For such a special occasion, were my expectations too high? I must say, first impressions did not disappoint. The design of the hotel is lovely, the antique furniture beautiful, and the simplicity of the gardens stunning. Regrettably, the main thing lacking was warmth from the hotel staff! We stayed for 7 nights in a Grand Deluxe room (not the hotel's basic room "Courtyard Superior" and not their best "Classic Suite"). At check-in we were made to feel like we were checking into the wrong establishment when we were questioned as to why we were travelling with such limited luggage for a week's stay, and why we hadn't booked the breakfast package as part of our stay! Justifying that were are light travellers and suggesting that breakfast's could be charged to our room was awkward to say the least! On our first night, we attended the bar for our "Welcome Drink". Sadly, the drink was not accompanied with much "welcoming". That said, we decided we would not be rushing to dine at the restaurant. The room was comfortable, though for the price we paid, I would have preferred that the dirty floor mat and stained scatter cushions had been taken away. Being removable items, this is an inexcusable oversight. Otherwise, the room was tastefully and adequately decorated and housekeeping were extremely attentive. Overall, there was nothing wrong with our stay. We just didn't leave feeling "we must return again one day".

This really is a beautiful and quiet hotel and we really enjoyed our stay in early October. The staff were all very lovely and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Our hotel driver Khun Noi was especially helpful and friendly, so much so that we booked him for a half day tour which was wonderful. The hotel is located in a quiet side street in the old town and does not really have any restaurants or shops near by however it is only a few minutes walk to the towns main street. The only issues we did have were that our standard room was not equipped with a kettle (we were told we could not have one as we were not in a superior room when we asked!) and that breakfast portions seemed a little hit and miss as we were given a whole waffle on one day and only half a one the next. These issues were emailed to the General Manager, Paul, so hopefully these will have been fixed by now.

We spent 5 nights in the Rachamankha. The hotel, which is a relatively new property but built in the traditional style, is small with about 26 rooms all well appointed with traditional furniture. Our room had a four poster king size bed and lounge. There was a modern flat screen tv with satellite channels, mini bar, tea/coffee making, etc. The shower room was clean and modern with good standard toiletries. The hotel rooms all look inwards onto a landscaped courtyard which means the rooms are quiet despite the central location. There is a good sized swimming pool with loungers. Breakfast, served at the table but very attentive staff, included tea, coffee, fresh juice, selection of bread, crossants, toast, and included three choices from the menu including cereals, pancakes, waffles, various eggs and bacon options, fried rice.
Location wise the hotel was well placed for exploring old Chaing Mai and the Walking Markets. We generally walked to our destination and got a tuk-tuk back for about 100 baht.
Highly recommended.

Beautifully located in the Chiangmai old city, within the walk distance to Chiangmai s best part, very well maintained in every corner of the hotel, aesthetically well designed and totally peaceful atmosphere, perfect for couple or single who can enjoy a piece of tranquility and the beauty of Asian architecture and interior design, best of its kind in Chiangmai.Considering the property boasts only 26 rooms, a touch of personal in terms of service would make the perfection.

This hotel is seriously amazing! The staff, food, and grounds are all top notch! Staying at this hotel has been the best part of our honeymoon trip to Thailand. I would highly recommend going staying here. The free breakfast is out of this world. Enjoy!
