“Fantastic boutique hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We stayed at the Rachamankha for a long weekend at the end of October in the 2 bedroom suite. From reading other reviews, sounded like the standard rooms were a bit small and the deluxe rooms were reserved. We didn't need the second bedroom, but it would be great if you have a family or two adults (non-couple) traveling together. The common living room was very nice and there is a balcony area outside where you can sit and read or have a drink. The restaurant is very good - we had several meals there. We also utilized a hotel car and driver for a 1/2 day tour -- we really didn't know what we wanted to see and the driver was flexible and also served as a tour guide (but not overly intrusive which we prefer). Overall a great trip -- there are several high-end hotel options (four seasons, mandarin oriental), but if we were to return to Chiang Mai, we'd stay here again.

Room Tip: 2 bedroom suite is great for families, friends traveling together but want a separate room, or coupl...

For the second year running we went to this beautifully designed hotel for their New Year's Eve party. It did not disappoint! A gracious welcome, excellent free- flow wine, a courtyard full of Thai specialities served by folk in traditional costumes and an exquisite European buffet. Traditional dancers, original cabaret & a great pop group to see in the new year. Plus the thrill of sending your own lantern up into the night sky to join the hundreds of others up there amongst the exploding fireworks. A unknown American said to me 'How did we land up here - it's heaven,it must be the best night of our trip'

Room Tip: The hotel is right in the middle of CM and all the rooms I've seen are lovely. It's tucked a...

We stayed six nights here. We loved everything about it. Proximity to the Walking Street Market and Wat Prah Singh is fantastic.

The only thing I would grouse about, if forced to, was that the pool closes too early. We explored Chiang Mai by day, so the pool was closed every time we got back to the hotel.

We stayed two nights in this hotel, then up to Chiang Rai, then returned for 2 nights at the Chedi.
I liked both of these Chiang Mai hotels but liked the warmth and texture of the Rachamankha best.
This hotel was more romantic as the Chedi was more severe and a bit cold in nature.
Not sure if the Rachamankha was empty, but we really felt this hotel was privately ours. Check-in was as if we were staying at a friend's manor house. The design is around a beautiful courtyard and the pool was off to the side. After a morning run, we took a swim in the pool and we saw no one. At breakfast, we saw only one other couple.
The entrance court is off a very quiet street. The room was warm in dark woods and warm fabrics. I would love to return to this property. And, I would highly recommend it to a friend. (I am an architect and loved the overall design and layout.)

Loved this hotel from the moment we stepped inside! Luxurious and tranquil. Furnished with antiques and artwork from the owner's collection - made you feel really "special". Good sized pool, great library, highly attentive and friendly staff, convenient position in the old city. Breakfast was very good and we ate several times in the hotel's restaurant - each meal was delicious, reasonably priced and the service was impeccable. Can't fault this hotel. We required a doctor whilst staying here and this was organised quickly and efficiently. Would love to return!!!!

Room Tip: All are around a central courtyard and dont vary much..........

We spent 6 glorious nights here in mid December. It really is a slice of tranquility and relaxation in busy Chiang Mai. The staff were very courteous and attentive and I thoroughly suggest you stay here when in Chiang Mai. Everything lived up to our expectations and we stayed in a beautiful Deluxe room, near the pool. The whole place has a calm and peaceful ambience and is an ideal 'getaway'. Just beautiful!

Rachamankha is excellent! We have been coming to Chiang Mai for Christmas for many years and stayed in numerous hotels. Rachamankha really stands out because it provides luxury surroundings and ambiance (we loved the fireplace and music) combined with perfect services. The staff are courteous and very attentive. The food, both breakfast and dinner, is very well thought through and cater for all tastes. The location is walking distance to the main attractions. We highly recommend this hotel. Oleg & Sophie (London)

Room Tip: Rooms are very clear and specious with amazing decor
