“Magnificent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

If you can, do walk up the dragon steps to reach the temple itself. Otherwise, a funicular will take you to the top. Doi Suthep is stunningly beautiful with intricate gilded detail. You will likely see groups of monks, as well as groups of the faithful walking in prayer.

From the terrace, you'll also enjoy the view overlooking Chiangmai.

“Long drive on winding road but most popular temple in chaing Mai”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013 via mobile

This is probably a must see but after extensive temple viewing in Bangkok this was pretty much uneventfull. The steps are beautiful and temple inside very nice but nothing compared to some we have seen. It's a very winding road so if you get car sick at all this may be uncomfortable. Still all in all a must visit View of city is lovely!

“Great temple and a great view.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

I took all the stairs without break, and the views from the temple grounds were amazing! Well worth the trip from Chiang Mai.

“Tranquility above the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

We were a group of 4 adults (parents and grandparents) and 2 children (7 and 9). Each of us enjoyed wandering around this temple and its surrounding grounds.

The tram (about 1USD) is a great benefit for people who can't make the steps but still want to experience this majestic place.

“Sunrise Special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

Go up here for the sunrise. It is worth the trip and early walk up call. Go early, it gets very crowded and be ready for a long walk up the stairs.
