This guest house was recommended by someone who had stayed there before. I took a chance and headed straight there without making a reservation. The taxi driver at the bus station was quite familiar with the place and took me straight there. Fortunately they were not booked out. At first I thought it was pricey.......comparatively speaking.... but in the end I thought it was worth it. There is internet service albeit slow, a restaurant on location, tour desk, transportation service, a/c room with own bathroom to include fridge; it was worth it. I could have done worse. I look at it as paying for the convenience. They were able to arrange last minute tours and I was picked up from the Guest House I didnt have to go anywhere to meet tour buses. From the restaurant, you had a peaceful view of the river while you ate. The restaurant prices were more than reasonable. I was able to charge everything except the restaurant to my room and then use my CREDIT CARD to pay for it, including the bus trip back to Bangkok. Credit cards seem to be RARELY used in SE Asia.
The room was ok for one person. Furniture was sparse but it was airconditioned, there was hot water and the bathroom was spacious enough. I didnt cringe when I entered the room so I can recommend it it to those persons who are looking for budget accommodations in Chiang Mai.
