This superb restaurant and cafe in the heart of the upscale, foreigner-friendly Huay Kaew area of Chiang Mai, truly has it all, with essentially nothing to complain about here. First, the decour is very well-thought out and works smashingly; elegant yet casual chic, lots of wood, very comfortable and intimate seating, both inside air-conditioned and outside al fresco. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, they go the extra mile, both the husband and wife owners, who speak fluent English and are graduates of Chiang Mai University, and all the lovely Thai staff. The food is very good, with an excellent array of choices, including a recently expanded lunch menu. Of course, the coffees and drinks are delicious, as are the many items I've sampled here. Only open for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon hanging-out, not dinner yet. The prices are very reasonable. The location is quite convenient, on Huaykaew Road a few blocks from the Lotus shopping center or the affluent Nimman area. Unlike many Thai owned restaurants, they won't forget about you here after you are served. But you will want to linger for hours, and watch the pedestrians stroll on by, while reading or chatting with friends. They don't rush you here, you feel like you are part of the family, right at home. Worth a trip go come, and many things to do nearby. Have breakfast, spend the time in the area doing fun stuff, and come back for a late lunch or afternoon break. I've been to a load of places in Chiang Mai, but this is certainly one of my favorites.
