“Cozy place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2013

The Birds Nest is at a small and quiet road in the north-west corner of the old city center. The place as itself is absolutely perfect to chillout, work or just enjoy your meal/coffee,... Free water is everywhere, good music in the background and delicious food. Sometimes it looks like a little bit unorganized and you have to wait a looong time for getting your ordered things, so take your patience - slow food!

“charming, low-key café”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2013

Birds Nest is a nice, low-key café located on a relatively quiet soi in the northwest corner of the Old City. Service is interesting, somewhat slow, definitely Thai. There's outside seating, but leave your shoes at the front if you’ll be eating inside. Order at the bar, pre-pay, and then hang out while your food comes. Luckily, there is free wifi and the lounge-like seating is very comfortable. I had the green curry with mushrooms, veggies, and a side of organic brown rice. It was good, but spicy according to western tastes - meaning not at all - and 20 baht more expensive than a proper green curry elsewhere in town. They serve quality Akha Ama coffee, but my Americano coffee was ok, not strong at all and barely warm. I wanted to order a carrot-ginger juice, but they were out of carrots. Ginger-mint-honey tea had no mint, but at least the honey was delicious. I saw other customers wait quite a long time for their food to come out. Definitely bring your patience. I would come here again, but not for the Thai food and not for the coffee. Maybe just for the charm.

“A cosy nest with delicious food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

This is an excellent place for travellers. The food is western style with many local ingredients. A great variety of vegetarian sandwiches, wraps, salads and more. Meat lovers can add bacon or chicken. I had a wholemeal avocado, tomato cheese sandwich and the second time a wrap with grilled vegetables. Both dishes where excellent. The coffee is very nice an their ginger, lemon, mint tea is good. It is a place where western travellers meet with their laptop, because the wifif is good. You can chill upstairs on the mats or in the hang mock or work on your travel blog at the tables. The staff is local and their language too.

“Great place to eat, chat and relax”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

We visited the Birds Nest Cafe three times in three days we liked it so much! It's in a quiet area of the old town, in the north east corner. It has a lovely relaxed vibe, with floor cushions and a hammock - a great place to eat, drink and relax. You order at the counter and then they bring you your food. You are not rushed and we sat for sometime reading after finishing our food. The staff are very friendly, the food had a really nice flavour and the Passionfruit smoothies are yummy. Worth the walk to find, for a quiet spot to relax and eat!

“Favorite place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2013

Introduced by a friend, I decided to enjoy the morning at Birds Nest Cafe. Walking in this place, I was impressed by the decor. It made this restaurant have a friendly and peaceful ambiance with hammocks and pillows. Vegetarian food was delicious and healthy drinks were also good. Price was reasonable and staff was wonderful. I had a great morning in here. Highly recommend. I'm sure I will get back here in the future.
