The stunning silver temple at Wat Sri Suphan is an ordination hall or Ubosot. Women are not permitted inside, but can wander around the perimeter. If your camera has a long lens you should be able to get a photo of the inside. The main temple to the left with the gold and silver buddhas outside does allow women to enter.

At the back of the temple you will find silver smiths at work and very much worth a visit. The silver workers are very obliging when you ask to take a photo.

Don't miss the ancient chedi/stupa at the back.

This is the only silver temple in Thailand. (It is actually fashioned from zinc) It is nearing the end of a refurbishment and the detail of the metal filigree work in the roof is amazing. Women are not allowed to enter the main entrance to the temple. There are metal workshops around the perimeter of the temple which you can investigate and a small cafe which gives it's takings to the monks.

This is one of the best place to take a shot at night in Chiang Mai province.
The atmosphere is very nice and clean.

The silver temple is open at night (most are not). After visiting the weekend walking market, follow it to its end at the Silver temple. On Select week nights they also have a monk chat which was such an eye opening and unique experience. I highly recommend doing it - you will never experience anything like it.
