“Good for family travellers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Thsi Hotel is a mega property, though there are amenities but its lacking maintenance. The rooms are similar sized and option of various types of room is limited. The Hotel reception lounge is grand , the staff are well trained and hospitable. The wifi worked very well. The room service from their restaurant is good. The room and rest room is clean and tidy. There is good enough variety of breakfast provided and specially there are good selection for veggies.
Having a direct connection with the PSK Mall having central store, tops and variety of branded fastfood outlet.
Overall good experience and in case we return to chiang mai, we would be here again.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms would provide good view of hills

Huge hotel so we expected efficient service. finally we enjoy 50 m swimming pool and nice view. Hotel does not provide enough information so you need to ask at reception every time and sometimes information will not be correct. It looks like Gym does not belong to the hotel so you need to ask for permission on daily basis even if you paid for 5 nights. It is used by Youngs Thais and it is always overcrowded. Once they gave me towel but next time they said it is only for members (nasty). Fortunatelly swimming pool, which is available for people not staing in the hotel is not crowded. There is nice music in the evening but restaurant was not popular. elevators have wrong information about services, somehing that is very easy to fix if you are thinking about you clients. Fortunatelly clean.

Room Tip: Ask for Doi Suthep view at the top

Chiang Mai is an old city so staying in a hotel with a little wearing gives it charm. We had 3 people and stayed in the suite - very large with a great view. The deluxe with a mountain view is what we will choose next and we will return. It is connected to a mall which offers great food choices. The buffet breakfast offers Thai and Chinese options and handles crowds well. Gay bar called Soho across the street. At the time of writing the gym and sauna were closed as we well as Carnival. But you can use gym next door though I did not check it out.

I stayed in this before, that time we booked for 2 superior rooms but was very disappointed because when we arrived at the hotel, they allocate us in a very dirty room near the laundry room, so we asked for upgrade and we were upgraded for De luxe for few hundred Bath. i like the room and the location.. I am going back there this coming November together with my daughter and my mom, booked 2 De Luxe room, I hope the hotel will not disappointment me this time, cos i really want to give a good time for my Mom's birthday.

Room Tip: I hope the De Luxe room will be good this time

Stayed 4 nights at this very charming hotel.. The staff were extremely helpfull with everything..
Breakfast is quite good - you can almost get everything you like... (The tea wasn't tasty..)
You don't get free wifi - but have to pay, 600 bath pr. day and 1500 bath pr. week - you get acess for one user at the time !!
A bit strange system I think, especially when you have to pay..
The hotel is very very - 2 minutes walk - close to a shoppingcenter with lots of shops.
The pool was Nice and big - but the sunbeds really need to be changed, they are old and very heavy and extremely hard - you can ask for two towels....

We've been really dissapointed. From outside, lobby, reception, lift it looks like a luxury hotel but it is not. The rooms are standart, service is bad and the breakfast included is not good. The swimming pool is really huge. Directly from the hotel you can access the shopping center next door.

Second visit to Lotus (just to be fair) - Rooms/ hotel adequate for very old "classic" Chiang Mai hotel. However, if you want to be GUARANTEED of a miserable dining experience, by all means, dine on the first floor restaurant.
Absolutely, the worst example of wait staff encountered in my many trips in the northern hemisphere. Indifferent - sullen -don't quite express my message but I can state that if I had a staff of this nature, I'd be out business very quickly.
