Good price/quality ratio.
The interior of the large size room (with large double bed) is a bit basic and dated. All is in working order though.
Breakfast is decent.
You can get around easily by taking a songtaw (pickup truck with benches) on the road around the corner.
The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the night market on the east side of town (from 7 PM every hour) and back (hourly until 10:10 PM). Otherwise, roughly THB 40-50 (roughly EUR or USD 1) gets you a tuk-tuk or songtaw.
We spent a great day at the Thai Cookery School, and booked a satisfying elephant riding day-trip at the travel guide next to the reception.
Massages were available at the hotel, but for an entire 2 hours only. The fitness equipment was below standard (and some broken).
If you're tired of Thai food, try La Pulcinella da Stefano at the eastern gate of town (side street next to Pharmacy, next to second hand book shop). Really good and affordable, real Italian food (in Chiang Mai!), with friendly service.
