“Clean Friendly Comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

Loved this place the staff were really friendly and made us feel right at home ,the room was coulourful clean and comfortable ,there was a shared cooking space and they had basic supplies we could buy ,the price was right ,it wasn't Chintzy or tacky and they really went out of there way to be helpful with things like advice and finding reliable taxis.it is within minutes of many of the temples and places to eat.

I fell in love with the room immediately, a pink (double) room! Also the ensuite bathroom was lovely, made me feel like I was at the beach. The owner and staff are very friendly and always willing to help you with further travel plans or tours in and around Chiang Mai. They arranged for us a day tour to Doi Suthep and the Tiger Kingdom. Also just around the corner is a great local street stand/restaurant with a variety of dishes for a great price (around 50B each). The only negative remark is the location, it is a little bit difficult to find and not as close to the part in Chiang Mai where everything-happens than other hostels, but everything is still in walking distance.

The hostel room was very basic with thin mattresses and concrete floor. The owner was lovely and couldn't do enough for you. The location isn't ideal but you are near a main road to get a taxi to the busier parts of town.

For the price you can't go wrong here.

Thank goodness we had planned out our whole trip of Thailand because this guest house was so perfect if we had not I could have stayed here an extra week.

The room was the largest room we have had so far in our trip (we had a private double) and it was spotless, beautifully decorated and with a large bathroom. After reading previous reviews we sprayed our window sills with anti bug spray each night but think we were being overly cautious as my friend got badly bitten in Ko Samet. We did not get any bites here.

The service at the hotel is immaculate. Nee and Gina helped us with any trips we wanted to organise. They arranged a taxi for us to tiger kingdom and our driver waited while we were inside. They also arranged seats for us for the wrestling and charged just face value for the tickets (400 bht exactly what we would have paid on the door). The lobby is lovely and there is a fridge with beers and soft drinks. A few nights we bought beers as they were very cheap and played games in the lobby as they have a book shelf containing chess, cards, Jenga etc. This hotel is in the old area of town so it's not buzzing but for us that was what we wanted we did our drinking in Bangkok and here we had loads of full day trips we wanted to do. We arrived slightly early for check in but were allowed to check in and also left our bags all day on our final day.

Although breakfast is not included the hotel has complimentary bread and fruit in the kitchen. So you can make yourself toast. You can also buy eggs for 6 baht each.

Dozy house thank you so much for our amazing stay.

We spent 4 nights at Dozy House, and we had a pleasant time. Our room was large and had a big bathroom. We received towels and there was a big bottle of body wash in the shower area. Each room had cute decals on the walls. The AC was great after the heat. The only bad part was that our room had lots of ants each night. Complimentary fruits and toast were available in the dining area. As with the Thai customs, everyone has to remove their shoes and deposit them at the shoe rack before going to their room.

We didn't have any issues with the location since we walked all over town. In addition, the guest house was very close to local restaurants such as noodle shops, pad thai place, and hot pot buffet.

The owner, Gina, was really helpful in booking our cooking class and providing us a map on sites to see.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

Stayed 4 nights in late June, 2013. The staff couldn't be better, particularly Gina. Always smiling, always helpful, and always able to accommodate our requests. The guesthouse has a shoes-off policy, which is not uncommon to SE Asia, and which I like as long as the floors are well cleaned. At Dozy House, the floors are spotless. The guest house is reasonably new, and for the money, is very well decorated. Bathrooms are cute, bedrooms are bigger than we even have stuff for. My brother, who we were traveling with, stayed at Le Meridian and said he wished he stayed here instead. That's saying something.

We booked a cooking class through Dozy the night before and it was great. They also helped us get to the airport when we left, recommending that we leave early to beat the traffic, which we definitely did.

Dozy is in a quiet part of the Old city of Chiang Mai. If you're looking for the bar scene and restaurants serving hamburgers, this is definitely not the place for you. All that stuff is on the other side of town. If you're looking for something quieter, with amazing value, and even better staff, this is your spot.

Room Tip: Rooms near the back of the hotel are close to some roosters, which may wake you up earlier than you...

Totally overpriced, far from the main center (evem if chiang mai is small..) the rooms were very basic, bathroom a bit dirty but that is everywhere in thailand more or less even in the big hotels the bathrooms are poor.
Do not use the excursions with the owner's husband or family , we went todoi sutep with her husband/brother in law and didnt even have time to see anything, he wasnt friendly and didnt even want to wait another 30min.
If we had gone with the red cabs it would have costed 100bath max per person vs 500 with them.

Do not use their taxi service either, they take you 100bath per person to the sunday market vs 20bath per person in a red cab.

Room very very basic and overpriced comparing to better standard in the old chiang mai.

The lady on the front desk is friendly but not when she cant sell you her excursions...
