“Excellent Thai Cookery Class in Chiang Mai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

The Thai Farm Cooking School is superb fun and very well run. Rika, our guide and teacher was such a lovely lady, and she taught us how to cook 6 dishes. This was both informative and fun at the same time!

After being picked up from your guesthouse, you are taken to the market (which is great!) and then driven to the farm, which is a little out of town. You go round the farm as the instructor picks the ingredients and then you are ready to cook your dishes. There are breaks in the middle to sample your lovely food, and just when you think you can't eat anymore, you are taught to cook one final dish. You get to take this home to eat for dinner, which is great!

I would recommend this to anybody in Chiang Mai. Its great for getting to know people and for, of course, learning how to cook basic Thai dishes. You get to take a recipe book home and this includes all of the dishes so that you can make the ones that you didn't pick on the day.

“Very well-run”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

My partner bought me a day at the Thai Farm Cooking School for Christmas, so I had been looking forward to going for some time. It didn't disappoint. We've come to expect some chaos in transportation and activities in Thailand, but everything about our day at Thai Farm was well organised.

We made some delicious food (and ate so much that I couldn't eat dessert) and came away with recipe books so that we can (hopefully) recreate the meals at home. Our teacher also encouraged us to contact her when we got home if we needed any further guidance.

The school is quite far from Chiang Mai (but transport to and from your hotel is included), on a really beautiful farm with semi-open air kitchens.

Well worth a visit.

“Wonderful Day and Delicious food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We spent a day at the Thai Farm Cooking School on a recommendation from my house mate who went there 8 months before us. Rika, who was our instructor for the day, was so sweet, patient and adorable. She has a great sense of humor and made me laugh all day. I made a declicious green curry, tom yam soup, pad thai and 2 more things. We made so much food, we got to take some to eat for later. I highly recommend going here. They even give you a cookbook with the recipes you made for the day.

“So much fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

By chance we booked a one day cooking class with Rika, and how lucky were we! She is fierce and funny, too. You never know who will be in your group on days like these, but we got the friendliest people and had heaps of fun. Rika makes sure everyone works together, "like family!", and it does make a difference. The visit to the market was great, we learned a lot about different ingredients and also got a tour of the organic farm. Cooking was easy, and Rika's laugh sure is infectuous! It was delicious, informative and so much fun. We couldn't have asked for more!

“Enjoyable day”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Enjoyable day but the 90 minute break for lunch was entirely too long and boring. Visit to the local market was delightful and the kitchen space was clean and learning about Thai food and how to prepare it good.
