“Highly recommended hotel in Chiang Mai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for four weeks to celebrate Christmas, New Year and an important birthday. We had a fantastic time; the place is beautiful, & very clean. The general manager & staff we super friendly and thoughtful. They helped us to feel at home. The breakfast buffet is exciting and included in the price.
Kodchasri Thani Hotel is in a great location, so we were able to walk to all the interesting places, like Temples, outdoor markets and restaurants. We certainly will be back!

Room Tip: The rooms in the back buildings are more quiet.

We only had three nights in Chang Mai, two full days exploring, so we chose a comfortable hotel in the centre. The rooms were excellent, everything you needed , big clean bathroom, comfortable bed, safe. There was a pool, but we didn't use it. Breakfast had a good choice, and on the morning we left really early it was stil there waiting for us.

We had trouble sleeping one night due to noisy guests in the next room, talking loudly until 1am - I can sleep through a hurricane, but not people talking ! so we asked to change room for the last night and while we were out the hotel moved us to another room no trouble at all. We heard no noise from outside the hotel on any night, and the noisy guests can happen anywhere, but the hotel dealt with it just fine.

We ate dinner there on the first night. The thai food was good, but the western food, i.e. the pizza we ordered, needed a bit of practice...

The hotel is inside the middle ring-road of chang mai, right in the middle of a lot of restaurants, a perfect location. It's also so new that our guide came in for a look round. She was impressed, and so were we. Very professional throughout, and small enough that you feel well looked after.

We stayed here for four nights in December and used it as our base to tour Chaing Mai and the surrounding areas. It was a perfect choice for our family (two kids age 12 and 10). The location is perfect, walking distance to the major sights and the Sunday walking market as well as a local food market. It is in the bustling old town and when you walk in you feel like you have entered a calm sanctuary-the hotel and grounds are so beautiful and peaceful-we were so happy to come back every day after a big day of Wats or elephant trekking or biking and relax in this wonderful space of running water fountains, a really interesting and never crowded pool and (our favorite) a raised lounge area with a koi pond stream surrounding and tons of cozy places to relax with our books. We had two superior rooms (the lowest cost) that were beautifully appointed and shared a comfortable balcony. We had a very good experience with the service, we asked on several occasions for help making tour reservations or confirming our plans without any problems. They even offer to download your pictures to a cd if you need more memory-just remember your USB cable. I did think the restaurant seemed expensive so we didn't eat there (except the awesome breakfast buffet). Try We's restaurant around the corner on soi 1-amazing food and nice atmosphere for an amazing value.

This was our first hotel on a 3 week trip through Thailand. We loved the hotel, it is well located and very nicely decorated. The pool area is a nice area to relax and cool off after a long day of sight seeing. .Although there are not a lot of chairs we didn't have problems finding space. We loved the covered lounge are that had 2 computers and very comfy furniture, it was great to relax with a drink and a good book. Breakfast was good with a large variety of both western and local food. Our room was spacious with nice wood furniture and a unique curved wall. The bathroom is modern and spacious. Best thing about this hotel is the great location, you can walk to many of the sights and to the weekend markets. Shops, travel agency and restaurants are near by.

Charming small hotel with friendly and attentive staff and pet cats. Well kept grounds with small swimming pool, though the landscaping is such that sunbathers are very much on show to other guests walking to and from reception.
The public areas are furnished to a very high standard, with free use of the internet, koi carp swimming in a small moat around an open terrace and antiques on display. There is piped music in most of the public areas, this can be intrusive - especially when it is Slade's Merry Christmas Everyone. In the evenings a pair of musicians perform western ballads from the 1980's -- Careless Whisper appeared to be a favourite.
The evening turn down service is a rare treat. As is common, if you're not in, someone flaps about with your duvet. If you are in your room, you get a free pot of tea and some cake. Fabulous.
Large selection for breakfast with both western and Asian offerings plus fresh fruit, yoghurt, as much tea as you can drink.
Lots of interesting sites within easy walking distance. Recommended.

The hotel location is great. We were able to walk to several restaurants and some sights. The room was nicely decorated. Our first room had problems with the A/C unit and they tried to repair it while we waited with them in the room. After they could not fix it, they moved us to another room. The staff at the front desk was not overly helpful with directions. They weren't overly attentive and rude to one of our tour guides. Would not stay here again.

Only got to stay 2 nights at this lovely place because it was full other nights I wanted. After I checked in, didn't want to go back outside! Just the room for one is huge, tiled, classy, has courtyard access, patio with bench and tea table and chairs. Modern, big bathroom. Breakfast buffet included. Very international, with hot brunch type rice/meats/veggies,omelets,waffles,cereal, fruit toast. Eat inside, or out in the magnificent garden by the pool. The very quiet music played some Spanish guitar, THEN Kenny G! Hotel definitely highlight of my trip.

Room Tip: Don't know about other rooms. Mine first floor. Excellent
