“cute hotel in a more local setting.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Chaing mai has the nicest people i've ever met & the staff at the peaberry were no exception. Their breakfast is small but it includes a really yummy rice dish & strong coffee. We stayed in the basic room & it was clean. They do have a european style bath which I had to get use too but it was well pressured. If you stay during a sunday, it's just a ten minute walk from this huge night market. Other than than, there wasn't a ton of places that were walking distance. They have free bikes & if you stay within the old city you can get around them in smaller less chaotic streets(super fun). The staff was also helpful in giving us an idea of what a tuk tuk should cost & how to use the red buses(which were a great deal).
My only con was strangely the bed frame, the bottom of it was a couple of inches larger than the mattress. I literally dinged my shin within a minute of entering the room & it became a huge bruise. It's a small room so even my husband who is not clumsy at all, got a matching bruise by the end of our 3 night stay. On a positive note, the mattress was comfy.
Overall, I would stay here again. The hotel & service makes you forget what a crazy deal you're getting & it outweighed the bruise.

The hotel was very good. We arrived before check in (1.5 hours) and we were allowed into our room. Rooms are spacious and have very nice furniture. Breakfast was very good, it had fruit, cereal, eggs, toast, tea, coffee, juice and rice (or noodles). You get 2 completely bottles of water per day. Staff was VERY friendly starting with the kitchen staff, front desk and management (manager and owner). Did not rate it a 5 because the room (walls and mats) and the bathroom had some issues (not very clean). The security box was not fixed to the wall...no security at all. Would recommend this hotel with my eyes shut.

Thanks for taking your precious time to write this nice review about us. I am glad that you found our staff and the management very friendly. And enjoyed our breakfast. Thanks for pointing out about the cleanliness of the room. I will bring that to my house keeping staff attention. I am sorry that you did not feel secured during your stay with us. Chiangmai is a very safe place. We are going to close the hotel for the months of June and July to renovate the whole hotel and make a coffee shop in the lobby area. Once more thanks for recommending our hotel. We hope to see you in the future again.

We only stayed in the Peaberry for 1 night, but it was beautiful. The room was lovely and clean, and the breakfast was very good. The hotel was also very close to lots of attractions, and it was easy to find our way around the inner city from here.

We were concerned about it being loud at night, but traffic quieted down very early and we didn't have any problems.

We arrived around mid day, early afternoon, we were greeted by the manager, and check in was quick.
He told us a bit about the area, what to do, and see.

The rooms are spacious , but lacks day light, only a small window next to the bathroom, for the rest it was all clean and that is the main thing.

The breakfast was good, choice of any style egg you wanted, there was yoghurt, coffee juice, fruit cereals, even noodles or rice, plus toast jam etc.
The toaster was a bit slow however.

Having bicycles there was nice, we only used them for an afternoon.

All in al this small hotel is nice, it is too bad that it is along a noisy street, sitting in the lobby to relax is pointless, because the traffic noise will drive you nuts, and there is no other place to sit out side and relax.

we booked the Peaberry, based on the good reviews, the location and the price. Upon arrival we were greeted by the manager, who was very helpful by giving advice about excursions and things to see and do while in Chiang Mai. My first impression of the room was, that it looked a bit spartan with the concrete floors. I didn't care too much for the layout, as the bathroom was against the outside wall, leaving only a small window for the bedroom. But we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. It had all the amenities: TV, mini fridge with two complimentary bottles of water every day, room safe, kettle, hairdryer etc. the room was spacious, so was the bathroom. The breakfast was good too, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast and always a choice of eggs and one Asian dish (noodles or rice) Altogether a good choice if you want to stay within the moat and the free use of the bicycles is really nice if you want to explore the city.
The only two minuses: the handheld shower and the fact that the room safe is not mounted into the wall.

A nice find on the quieter side of Chiang mai.
Amazing breakfast spread, clean luxurious room with pillows softer than soft!
Great, helpful, friendly staff with super English.
We only left to find somewhere with a pool.
Thoroughly recommend!
