My wife and I ate here our first night in Chiang Mai, following a recommendation from the folks at Baan Orapin, where we were staying. It was only a short walk from the hotel, so this was an attraction (Note to Trip Advisor - the location that you have for this restaurant on the map that comes up when you click on Samsen Villa is not correct. The restaurant is across the river and just left on Chaorenrat Road.
The food was quite tasty. One dish I recall in particular was a chicken paneang curry. The al fresco setting along the river is pleasant too. It was Children's Day when we were there and the kids who had come to dinner with their family drew for a table of prizes. Much merriment.
The last night I was in Chiang Mai a group of local Thais I know took be here for dinner, completely by coincidence. The Thais food was tasty again. A plate of western-style sausages that was popular with the Thais was, I thought, the least successful dish.
