“TK, Definetly worth a look”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2010

I have stayed and seen several Guest Houses around TK Guest House. Theirs is no.1 for value with a good quality room.
Budget Travels can afford it and you really get value for money.
I Personally recommend seeing TK himself or his staff for anything you need in Chiang Mai.

Really welcoming and helpful, lovely staff. The rooms are clean and big. The main guy " T " is awesome, so accommodating, really excellent English and will help you with anything. Very knowledgeable about the area and you can book tours through them. We got a night free for booking a tour! We ended up running REALLY late for our tran to Bangkok and T went out of his way to drive us there personally (no charge) so we made the train!
If you want to go see the elephants, I would strongly recommend going to the Elephant Nature Park (the one where you go and see and learn about the abused elephants that how now been rescued). You don't ride them and they don't do tricks for you (since going there I have learned that both these are not natural and very bad for the elephants). You get to feed them lots, bathe them and walk around with them...take lots of photo's! Also, if you had your eye on the "flight of the gibbon", do the local one instead for the same price called "Jugle flight". MUCH better, more zip wires and stuff , ran by local people, very safe and professional - we had an awesome time!
TK Guesthouse definitely played a big part in making our stay in Chiang Mai awesome!

I stayed here for three weeks and I would definitely stay here again if I came back to Chiang Mai. My room was big, comfortable and clean with a great bathroom. I was lucky enough to have a view of the mountain from my balcony and the air-con AND fan were both excellent. The location couln't be better - it's inside the old city walls and close to some really good cafes, beautiful wats and the Saturday and Sunday walking street markets. There's an internet room downstairs and wi-fi in all the rooms, you can borrow bikes (and umberellas) too. The rates were excellent and the staff were lovely - friendly and helpful right from the start. T, the owner, runs his own tours and will hel[p organise anything - what a fantastic guy. I had a perfect stay .

We found this guest house by luck! and what a stroke of luck it was- the owner is super friendly and helpful, speaks very good English. The room was big with plently of space for the back pack! The A/C worked a treat in fact at night we had to turn it down because we got cold! We were here for Thai New year and it was excellent!

I loved Chiang Mai, partly because of the amazing experience I had at TK Guesthouse. Our group of 5 rented out an entire 7 bed dorm (for the price of 5). Staff were very friendly and helpful, able to book you any tour or arrange a private tour at a moments' notice at a very good price. TK, the owner, has lived in NZ so has great English and a special fondness for Antipodeans. He also solved a crisis for us when our tour driver went awol. Good internet service downstairs and several marts, cafes and restaurants nearby as well as being handy to all the sites of Chiang Mai.

TK is a cheap, clean and convenient place to stay in the Old City. Food and Internet are right downstairs and the staff running the place are a great group of people who can help arrange pretty much anything you need. I've stayed at 4 other guest houses in the area but this is definitely the best all-around.
