The Siripanna is located in the quiet, remote outskirts of Chiang Mai. A short, cheap(100 Baht) tuk tuk ride away from the city center. The property is amazing…lush foliage, a pool that completely wraps around the central courtyard, and rice patty field in which you can learn to plant a rice crop. Check-in is done sit down style over cold tea in the open air lobby with a very tropical feel. The room is massive and luxurious in every way. Large TV, bedroom is huge, huge comfortable bed, and a bathroom that was bigger than some entire hotel rooms I've stayed in before complete with large vanity, bathtub and walk-in shower. Nice little touches too like beautiful hard wood floors, remote control A/C, high quality bathrobes, slippers, soaps, ample mini bar, door that opens onto your personal patio even on the first floor, free bottled water and turn down service with personalized message. The hotel also woos you with free 10 minute massage, complimentary fresh fruit plate in room upon arrival, shuttle at various times to old town, trustworthy ice made in house with filtered water delivered to room anytime before 11pm. The staff was incredible bending over backwards for us. Concierge was honest and forthright actually talking us out of an activity he felt didn't suit us. No matter the time of night they come out front to greet you with a welcome home smile. Even driving me to the store when I realized I needed sandals for the elephant tour. In fact my only minor grievances were no free WIFI in room(to this day I'll never understand why the pricier the hotel the less likely they have free WIFI) and the lobby where there is free WIFI has mosquitoes from being an open air concept(something that was charming a first seemed slightly impractical when your getting bit up by mosquitoes). However the staff brought us bug spray. Also noticed that if you stay on the second floor there appeared to be no elevator. I would recommend this hotel for almost any type of traveler, with the exception of someone backpacking.
