“Excellent location and excellent value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

After reading the reviews on tripadvisor, we decided to book this hotel for our 2 days stay in Chiang Mai and we did not expect too much. Though, we were very pleased with what we found.
The hotel is perfectly located in Chiang Mai city near the Thaphae gate. You can easily walk to the night bazaar (10/15 minutes) and to the Sunday bazaar. Breakfast is included, served from 6:30 to 10:30 and was good. (cereals, toast, jam, but also hot food like noodles and eggs). The room was very large and had everything we needed. beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean. There is a McDonalds restaurant open 24/24 at the first floor of the building, so you can have a snack anytime you want. Overall, we were very satisfied with this hotel and we were not disturbed by the noise coming from the lobby as some other reviews mentioned (and we were actually staying on the first floor).

Very well located. Clean and spacious room.
They provide a washer and drier at the top floor, which was very convenient. It costs 50 bath to use the washer and 60 bath for the drier (you have to use 10 baht coins to insert in the machines). You can play ping-pong at the same place while you wait for your laundry.
Wi-fi at the room was good, but you have to keep login in several times. You also have to ask the front desk for the login and password which keeps being changed every 6 hours or so.
The breakfast buffet was ok, but they offer more options for what locals usually eat (a whole meal like lunch or dinner such as salad, rice, boiled rice soup etc).

Room Tip: We were a couple and booked as such, but our room had two single beds put together. Not very comfort...

This hotel is great for what it is: a well located budget hotel in Chiang Mai. The room was small, but clean and modern, with the only complaints being a less-than-hot shower (it's got a tankless heater, trick here is to not put the water up to full pressure and it will be hotter), and a non-existent view (maybe just the room we were given).

The location was good, with us only requiring a taxi or tuk-tuk when leaving the Chiang Mai area. We walked the whole city and to the night bazaar from this hotel without trouble.

Breakfast was enough to get something in your stomach at the start of the day, but nothing to write home about.

Only real complaint is that the hotel gets very noisy in the mornings. All of the rooms are built around an enclosed courtyard, with all hard surfaces. Once the breakfast starts, every sound in the courtyard echos throughout the entire hotel and gets quite loud. I would enclose the breakfast area into a room of its own to help block this sound.

If I were back in Chiang Mai again, I would consider the Imm, but I would also consider hotels a bit closer to the night bazaar.

The travel agent desk in the lobby was not good. We asked about tours and were told that what we wanted to do did not exist (and instead were told the only options available were some much, much higher priced options). We went outside and grabbed a tuk-tuk for the day and saw everything we wanted to see for a fraction of the price (and time!) that the hotel desk was pushing.

Room Tip: Not sure where you'll find a quiet room in the morning here, but if you find tips for it, follow...

The Imm hotel is more 'modern' than Thai. rooms are ok for Thai standards. Two floors, no elevator. Water in shower weren't really warm - the instant boiler wasn't good enough.
The location is the main advantage you're *at* the center. But we managed to find hotels with much better atmosphere In less than 1 km away (going east).
If you like McDonalds, it's right above one. 1000-1200 baht/night (high season). Wouldnt go back.

We stayed their 3 nights. When we arrived, I found that the hotel was a little dark, not very bright and lite up. We chose the ground floor rooms because we had two big luggages, and realized there weren't any elevators or bellboy that can help us with the luggage. The rooms very spacious and clean and had the bare necessities. The only downside would be the towels (it was a little grey in color). Hairdryer was available at the receptionist desk.

Complimentary Buffet Breakfast- Not the best food, but good enough to get your day started. (Breakfast time: 6:30am-10:30am)

Location: Opposite from the Thaepae Gate, right across from the Sunday Market, 5 min Tuk tuk ride to the night market. Lots of pubs, restaurants, massage places in the area. Very convenient.

Activities/Bookings: A very helpful girl at the information center helped us book rides and tickets to the tiger kingdom and night safari.

Overall, the hotel was really good for the price we paid.

Room Tip: If you have huge luggages, I recommend staying on the ground floor. (No elevator or bell boy to help...

Everything you need for a great night sleep. Bed comfy, bright colors, strong showers, Mac Donalds downstairs if u feel hungry in middle of night, efficient front desk, only problem is there's no lifts. Breakfast is quite basic. A tuk tuk ride to the night market cost abt 600 baht. Sunday walking street just across the street. Lots of massage choices around the hotel. Will stay again.

Room Tip: Try to request for low floor if you have heavy luggage or senior traveler. Highest floor is 3rd floo...

We only stayed one night as this was a stopover on our way farther north. I would hardly call the room charming but quite functional with a/c, refrig, TV. The breakfast was what you would expect in this price range. Cold eggs, sausage, rice soup, salad (lettuce & tomatoes), fruit (watermelon and pineapple) toast, coffee/tea. Enough to get you started in the morning but nothing memorable. The location is what you're paying for here and for a tourist it's great.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the 2nd floor as all the rooms on the ground floor face the breakfast dining ar...
