We stayed in Imm Eco, Chiang Mai, for 3 nights at the end of June. It is a wonderful place; a true hidden gem. The hotel is a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute songthaew ride from the centre of Chiang Mai and well worth considering if you are staying in this city. The grounds of the hotel are fabulous, bursting with lush greenery and a haven of peace and tranquility. The amenities are very good with a choice of lovely rooms; dorm-style, twin and twin ensuite. The rooms are fresh and beautifully decorated; there is bottled water and flip flops for the shower are a thoughtful addition. In terms of amenities, you want for nothing; the pool is second to none (and is also available to non-guests for a small fee of THB 100 a day), there are laundry facilities, treadmills, cross trainers, exercise bikes, table tennis tables, high speed internet - the list goes on! Breakfast is a self-service buffet with plenty of tea, coffee, juice, fresh fruit, eggs, bread, preserves and so on. The staff are very pleasant and helpful; it was my birthday whilst we were there and they left a beautiful birthday cake complete with candles in my room. A fabulous touch, especially when you're far from home and another example of the wonderful experience awaiting you at the Imm Eco, Chiang Mai.

This is the best hostel I've stayed in so far. It's like a garden of Eden. The hostel is located a bit out of town in a big tropical garden. It's very relaxing to stay here. The swimming pool is amazing, really huge. It's very easy to get to the center of Chiang Mai. A songthaew is less then 1 euro and it takes about 10 minutes to get there.
The shared bathroom is very clean and comfortable. All the rooms have aircon and you get clean sheets and towels.
I was so happy about this hostel, I took my friends there 2 months later and I will definitly go back one day!

I stayed at the Imm Eco in Chiang Mai for 3 nights in March 2009. This hotel is like a Garden of Eden in the middle of a bustling Thai city. Would very much have liked to stay for a lot longer.
The gardens were large, exotic and extremely well cared for. The rooms were very roomy and clean with great amenities.
The pool was large, clean and well looked after.
Staff at the restaurant and also the guards at the gate were extremely helpful.
I would have to say, this must be one of the best value hotels anywhere.
Would definitely like to stay here again.

Stayed in Imm Eco for four nights in October. After very tiring travel it was fantastic to arrive in Imm Eco. Huge pool all to ourselves, simple room but extremely clean and extremely good value for price (about 4 euro per person). Shared toilets and showers were always clean and lots of hot water and shower gel provided. Pool, treadmills, gardens and the main building were lovely, again everything very well maintained and very pleasant to relax during the day. There are a few buildings so it takes a few minutes to get from place to place, but not really a bad thing. Breakfast choices were limited as were dinner choices - this is the only fault we found. Assume choices will be improved when the hotel starts getting more visitors. All staff were friendly and helpful - especially when flagging down tuk-tuks to get into city centre. Security guards around the property 24 hours. Hotel is located 10 mins in tuk tuk from town centre - worth it being further out for peace and quiet of the grounds. (not a great place if you want to socialise in the hotel) Just make sure and print out a map in Thai (on website) for tuktuk drivers - its not well known. Amazing value for money.

  • Liked — Grounds-pool-cheap!
  • Disliked — Lack of choice for breakfast/dinner
