I'm not going to waste much time on this place except to give warnings. First a boutique hotel would have a very simple thing like a soap holder, etc. in the shower. Not here. Second, there would actually be some decent lighting in the bathroom. Not here. Third, it would have a neutral odor. Not here-nice and musty. Finally, a boutique hotel converted from an older, decaying hotel would be completely renovated with a unified theme not patched together in a bizarre pattern with amateur art work and poor craftsmanship. And don't get me started on the toxic level of chlorine in the pool. The independent travel agency (Tongchai Tour-don't use them either) based at the wonderful Salil Boutique Hotel in Bangkok misled me on this place and was almost as expensive as the Salil but about 1/4 the value. I ended up needing to stay an extra night in CM (only booked this one paid in advance for two nights thankfully) and ended up across the street at a new hotel (didn't even have a name on it yet) run by Family Tribal Trekking next to the Eurana. It was nice, clean, smell free-twice the size for half the price. Stay there instead. You'll miss out on having a pool but them you already know about the pool.
