Not a boutique hotel by any definition. More like a borderline dump.

I'm not going to waste much time on this place except to give warnings. First a boutique hotel would have a very simple thing like a soap holder, etc. in the shower. Not here. Second, there would actually be some decent lighting in the bathroom. Not here. Third, it would have a neutral odor. Not here-nice and musty. Finally, a boutique hotel converted from an older, decaying hotel would be completely renovated with a unified theme not patched together in a bizarre pattern with amateur art work and poor craftsmanship. And don't get me started on the toxic level of chlorine in the pool. The independent travel agency (Tongchai Tour-don't use them either) based at the wonderful Salil Boutique Hotel in Bangkok misled me on this place and was almost as expensive as the Salil but about 1/4 the value. I ended up needing to stay an extra night in CM (only booked this one paid in advance for two nights thankfully) and ended up across the street at a new hotel (didn't even have a name on it yet) run by Family Tribal Trekking next to the Eurana. It was nice, clean, smell free-twice the size for half the price. Stay there instead. You'll miss out on having a pool but them you already know about the pool.

We were for honeymoon in Chiang Mai and stayed at Eurana for 6 daysat the Lanna style deluxe room at the pool wing(18-24/10).Located at a very nice place in the old town very close to anywhere. Bars, restaurants,at the neighborhood and just 10 min from the night bazaar. We loved this boutique hotel! Very nice decorated with interior garden, waters running and soft music playing creating a chill out atmosphere! The hotel was very clean and everybody who worked there was very willing to serve and help us in every way! Amazing smiles at an amazing boutique hotel!

I was a little concerned booking this hotel, because I could not find any internet reviews. Also the rate on Agoda (US $57/night) seemed too cheap for a “decent” place. Once we arrived though, I was pleasantly surprised.

The public areas are very pretty, with well-maintained walkways, gardens, ponds, and waterfalls. The pool is also well-maintained and attractive, although it doesn’t get much sun later in the afternoon. The breakfast buffet (included in the room rate) is excellent!

The location is also very good. Although it’s near a main road, the side street itself is quiet and we heard very little noise at night. It’s conveniently located to walk around the walled city, including many temples, restaurants, and shops. The Sunday walking street is only about 10 minutes away. The night market is also walking distance, but a little longer walk (20-25 minutes). If you’re going further, it’s worth trying to flag down a communal taxi, which cost only 15 baht to the most of the city.

Directly across the street is a very cheap internet place, and next door is a little outdoor tour stand that can arrange day trips and treks. Along Moon Muang Road, there is a 7-11, food stalls, and other shops.

The staff was very friendly and helpful – we had problems with our room safe and a minor plumbing issue, and they sent up people immediately. When the safe could not be fixed, they offered use of the hotel safe.

The rooms are not really the attraction here -- the “superior” room we had was adequate. There was just enough space and it had the basic amenities, but it could have used a little sprucing up, in terms of new paint, tiles, etc. We were in the “M” wing though - the rooms/suites in the other wing of the hotel opened onto balconies and seemed nicer, so try to get one of those.

The hotel has a van that will drop off at the airport for 100B. I’m not sure if they also do airport pick-up.

For the price we paid, this hotel is a great value in terms of location and features.

I booked this hotel through one of the Asia room websites. The room was reasonably priced. Breakfast was a feast of food, asian and american style (included). There was free wi-fi in the lobby, but I found that my room was close enough to pick up the signal. The room was very clean. They have both european and Thai Lanna style rooms, and gave me a choice of rooms on arrival. The A/C worked well. There is a good size pool on the 2nd floor, though I didn't know this before arrival. There is also a very nice massage spa in the hotel. It was slightly more expensive than the numerous other massage places all over town; but there's something to be said for getting an hour long foot massage for 300THB (10USD) at the end of the day and them just drifting up to bed. They also have a pretty good restaurant and live music a few nights a week ( a solo guitar player while I was there).
