The condom motif isn't even off-putting; kind of wild, aesthetically pleasing and delicious with a world-class message. Condom art. Posters on HIV and safe sex, but I don't think they were holding any learners classes while I was having lunch. On to the food.
I finally got my crispy duck. It was served in a salad with mint, peanuts, roaste chilies, cilantro, mango matchsticks and a nice light rice vinegar dressing.
The panaeng prawns was (were?) served on a bed of basil. Not a soup-like panaeng curry, but not terribly thick either. Just enough to coat the prawns with enough left over to spoon over the rice.
Deep fried pork with pepper and garlic was delicious. Still tender while a dry preparation covered with the garlic and pepper. Might have benefited from a side sauce but really not an issue.
The combo white and red jasmine rice was actually interesting; well, not so much the white as it was basically white jasmine rice. Didn't know jasmine came in red, and it was very much like Himalayan red rice, crunchy and tasty.
Can't wait for the next trip to Bangkok!!!!
