last hotel before travelling home.A real find.Walking distance from the main attractions and shopping on a quiet (occasionally whiffy) Lamphru Canal.Very popular with young families partly due to the small but adequate swimming pool.management couldn't be more helpful and the atmosphere friendly and accommodating. Even though our flight wasn't until midnight they let us use the pool, bar, showers and storage area for free from 11.00 in the morning till be left at 8.00 pm.Look for the gawping fish and river crocodile that hang out by the bridges.Cheapest massage in town also available round the corner for 150 bahts one full hour of pleasure mixed with agony.Taxi hailed on the street to airport on the meter only 225 + tip (Book it its 800 !)

Room Tip: No room really has a good view but its not important. The AC is effective and quiet. Dont confuse thi...

We stayed here twice, at the beginning and end of our month in Thailand and Cambodia. We paid 1,850 Baht/nigh (about $60). Our first room, in the main building, was small but comfortable with a small balcony overlooking the pool. The bathroom was little gross with its moldy-looking faux-wood flooring, and there was some peeling paint in the room. But the buffet breakfast included in the price was really good, with a lot of choices: scrambled or fried eggs, French toast, pancakes, fried rice, yogurt, cereal, fruit, home fries. There is A/C, hot water and a small fridge in the room. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is an elevator so you don’t have to carry your bags up the stairs and there’s a small safe in the room. Lonely Planet says there’s a “rooftop bar.” Well, there is a bar up on the roof, but it wasn’t stocked and no one was up there working the two nights we went up.

Here are two issues we had: First, one day at 8 a.m. we left for the day and left the sign on the room door requesting the room be made up. When we returned at 3:30 the room still wasn’t done and we had to find the cleaning staff and ask for clean towels and toilet paper. The second time we requested the room be cleaned the same thing happened, we returned about 4 p.m. to find our sign still on the door. Maybe the women who clean the rooms only start at a certain time? It’s a mystery.

Second, when we got back to the hotel four week later, we were told that they didn't have a room available for us in the main building, we would have to go to the second building several houses away. We pointed out that we had made our reservation for the main building three months before, and had just confirmed it before we left them four weeks before. They said they were sorry but they were very busy. Here’s our question: If you have the room in the second building to put us, why didn’t you put whoever showed up without a reservation into that building AND HOLD OUR RESERVATION? Frustrating. They said that it would only be for one night and that their staff would move our bags the next day while we were out, which they did. But it was a lot more of a hassle than it should have been.

From arrival to departure the Lamphu Tree House is extremely comfortable. The rooms are nicely decorated in simple Thai style. The staff is helpful and the restaurant is quite good. A great place for a romantic couples visit closer to the city but away from the sleaziness of the city center.

Room Tip: The Upper level on the front of the building has large windows on two sides. Although the view is n...

We stayed one night at Lamphu Tree House - we had just arrived to Bangkok at the start of our Asia trip so when we got a free upgrade to their 'penthouse' floor we were quite happy to say the least! The hotel is well located - 5 mins through a safe area to Khao San Road. We stayed in a second building they seem to have just a 2 minute walk away - it means you're not in the main building where the reception/restaurant/swimming pool is but it didn't matter to us for one night but may do if you were staying for a few nights. Our room was fab - on the 7th floor - like a mini suite with a separate living room and big balcony overlooking the city...I think we got the best room in the place although we had only booked a standard room! The staff were friendly and helpful. Our bags had not turned up at the airport when we arrived and we waited for hours until they were delivered to the hotel...the hotel rang on a number of occasions on my behalf to try speed the process up however. Breakfast was a buffet set-up and was quite good. We ate in the hotel's restaurant on the first evening as it was convenient and it was reasonably good. The swimming pool is just off the reception area - it's quite small but looked inviting although we didn't get to using it. Overall, I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

I stayed for a few days at this hotel in August. It is a really nice hotel which I tucked away in a nice quiet spot. It is only a short walk to the tourist areas.
It has a nice pool area, a little small but really refreshing. The hotel seemed to have lots of families and other travellers.
The staff were really helpful and sorted out a taxi to the airport for 500bht.
The highlight was breakfast which was great. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel!

We stayed here on our first night in Bangkok and ended up comparing every other hotel we stayed at to the Lamphu Tree House. PRINT THE MAP and take it with you wherever you go to show the drivers how to arrive as it isn't that easy to find!!

After booking a deluxe room, it turned out that they didn't have that room available and upgraded us to a suite (normally 3,500 THB) for the same price as the deluxe room (normally 1,650 THB). We couldn't have been happier. The suite is on the 4th floor of the main building and you have to take an elevator to the 2nd floor then climb 2 flights of stairs to where the suites are located. This area has it's own mini bar area as well as chairs and sitting area that overlooks Bangkok. This view will take your breath away.

The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and luxurious.

The location is PERFECT - 5 minutes walk to Khao San Road and 15 minutes walk to all the major tourist attractions - Wat Pho and the like. It is in the center of everything.

Service was amazing, the staff helped you with whatever you needed. We left our baggage the next day while we went exploring the city in the baggage room. They leave your bags in a secured room with a tag so they know whose bags are whose.

We also ate dinner here on the first night and everything we ate was wonderful but I especially recommend the chicken satays, the peanut sauce they have, I found, was one of the best that we tried in Thailand.

The pool is inviting, but we didn't get a chance to use it. In short, one of the two best hotels we stayed in throughout Thailand. You won't go wrong staying here.

Room Tip: Rooms on the fourth floor, I think there are 5 in total, have the best views of the city from the si...

Average hotel but the entrance is very hidden and therefore difficult to find for taxi's. The small street to the entrance smells terrible as well as the swimmingpool area. However the breakfast is good, room is ok and staff is very friendly.
