“Great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

Good service with friendly staff.
Nice room with a massive bed.
Good location - right by sky train and 5 minute walk to night life.
Would recommend.
We felt like royality in this hotel. The staff could not do enogh for you. The pool on the roof of the hotel is beautiful (if not a little cold). The room was perfect, not sure why there was a window into the bathroom, but this had a blind on! The buffet dinner was lovely - a little expensive but the food was very good.
We plan to return next year.

We stayed here for 2 days on a short trip to Bangkok. Found the hotel quite comfortable, Room was clean, staff was very friendly. Free wi-fi works well on the top floor.

BTW, we really liked the breakfast @ CO2 (cafe on 2).

A good value for money.

We arrived prepaid for 2 nights at 1:30 AM to find no room available. The night manager was very nice, took us by taxi around to the Sheraton, where we stayed "overnight" until 7AM, at which time the same night manager arrived to take us back for breakfast (and check in) at Park Plaza. Since our tour guide was picking us up at 8 AM, we didn't get much sleep. However, the hotel is quiet, lovely room, excellent breakfast, and we enjoyed our second night there, as booked. Dinner there was not spectacular but we were too tired to go out.

I stay here nearly every time I visit Bangkok and have not had a bad experience. Location is great, short walk to both Asok sky train and Sukhumvit train station. All the restaurants and nightlife of sukhumvit are close by. Rooms are comfortable and always clean, front desk is efficient. On check out on my last visit they did incorrectly charge me for minibar (which I never use) but they removed the charge without problem when I pointed out their mistake. There is a restaurant/cafe on premises but I have never used it. He pool on the roof is small but a very pleasant place to relax with good views of the area. Note that te gym is tiny. The main thing I think could be improved would be to provide wifi - perhaps I missed it or didnt look hard enough, but on my most recent visit it still didn't seem to be provided.

There are two Park Plazas in the Bangkok area, so make sure you get the right one! The Park Plaza Sukhumvit is located on the busy Ratchadapisek road, right around the corner from the Asoke BTS station as well as the Sukhumvit MRT station.

Now the top tip for staying in Bangkok is to use the efficient BTS and MRT train lines to get around, this will avoid you for being caught up in the monstrous traffic jams that Bangkok is famous for. Taking this tip further, this would mean staying in a hotel near a train station.

This is where the Park Plaza Sukhumvit earns top marks. Located hardly 5 minutes walk from two train line stations, you cannot go wrong with this hotel. It is also located near the Terminal 21 shopping mall, the Long Table restaurant at the top of the Column Tower and the red-light Soi Cowboy area.

The hotel itself is a smaller boutique type hotel, so there isn't much in terms of common area facilities, save for a small rooftop swimming pool and gymnasium as well as a small cafe.

The rooms are excellent for the price we paid. At 2400 baht per night, the Deluxe rooms come with all the facilities you can wish for, although the price did not include breakfast. Free wi-fi, in room safe, flat screen television with plenty of channels, refrigerator, hair dryer, what more could you ask for?

The bathroom was super sexy, with glass wall and hot water rain shower. The bed was huge and super soft and comfortable with nice pillows. The whole room was tastefully appointed in modern style. Housekeeping service was good, the room was turned down every evening when we got back.

The staff were also great, every time we returned to the hotel, the front desk staff would stand up and greet us.

This hotel is a gem, and if you can get a good rate, well worth the money spent.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor for better views.

My husband had to have surgery and I was staying at Park Plaza Sukhumvit while he was in hospital. The staff were extremely helpful, even when we had to make a number of changes to my booking to accommodate our prolonged stay. I was able to get a lot of work done in our comfortable room and easily take the train to the hospital and to run errands around town. Sukhumvit is a great location, and Park Plaza particularly well located for the train and subway, plus my favorite vegetarian restaurant, Govinda, is just a 15 minute walk! I will be back, hopefully for a less serious purpose next time...
