The attached and related residences are great, but the dinner options are pricey and not particularly good. To be fair, we ate the western dishes, as we can't bring ourselves to eat Thai food in restaurants when the street options are so amazing.
We shared a Thai appetizer, the spring rolls, which were fine but nothing more thanwhat you would get in any Thai restaurant around the world. The mains (saffron risotto with langoustine, three types of ravioli) were at best passable. The river prawn was overcooked and rubbery, the ravioli poorly spiced if well presented.
I also had perhaps the worst martini in my life, and I've been on the receiving end of some mediocre martinis. It was all vermouth with a splash of gin. I hate sending things back, triply so in a culture so polite, concerned about saving face, and where it's difficult to communicate drink preferences, but it was undrinkable.
