“front desk lady is stupid and also rude”

this is good hotel actually, but when i checked out the front desk lady had pissed me off. i said i wanted to pay in cash, but she didn't heard and she swiped my credit card. then i asked her to cancelled it, and what happened next was really make me angry. she throwed something in front of me and rudely said "now where's your money?". and also she said [--] you" when i'm was asking where's the hotel manager and then her friend said that the manager is unavailable. lucky for me that these bad things happpened when i checked out, because i checked in with another front desk lady and she's very nice to me.

“funky retro style”

Loved the look of this place the minute i arrived, nice friendly helpful staff. The room was a good size i loved the look and feel of the it but it did feel a bit unclean and the bathroom was way too squeezy and had the worst septic smell, i couldnt stand to go in there. I really wanted to like this place a lot but the bathroom smell was feral. The breakfast was delightful and the best part of the stay. Very helpful and fun and friendly concierge staff, nothing was too much drama.
If they improved the bathrooms and cleanliness of the carpets in the rooms i would stay there again in a heart beat.

“LOCATION OVER COMFORT”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2010

Overall, cant complain - you get what you pay for:-

Positives:
1. Location is supreme, right in heart of apparel district, walk to Pratunam shops n Platinum Mall, Panthip Plaza;
2. Lots of shopping. eating, massage options right outside hotel;
3. Coffee house opens til late - 2AM - in case you get peckish - food OK

Negatives:-
1. Most rooms have strong stench of cigarette smoke - nicotine;
2. Hotel designed to have trendy, hip look, but didnt feel like hip hotel;
3. Dark, poorly lighted rooms, with thin cheap carpets;
4. toilet very small, true, ants running around...
5. to me, breakfast had nothing attractive to offer, except fried eggs in odd shapes...

This hotel would work for those keen to shop only, esp for clothes n accessories... I wouldnt stay here again... many better hotels for d same price...

“bad services, money face staff!! dont believe the pictures!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2010

i had book 5 nights deluxe room before i go there. when i and my husband arrive, they took us to a room which is lower grade (i believe is a superior room which is cheaper, normal TV, not LCD as stated for deluxe room, not hairdryer...and very old furniture).
I was mad and immediately call to frontdesk to complaint, and guess what he said? the man told me that is the design of that room, all rooms has different theme, and that room given to me is with "OLD FEEL"!!
I cant accept it and i ask for another room (which is really deluxe room, as what we saw in the photo posted on internet), but he said other deluxe rooms with double bed are all full, only one twin bed room left ( because i book a double bed room).
Then i said nevermind, just change it for me.
after 5minutes we were taken to another room, guess what? That is with LCD TV, modern design...and... double bed!!! ( The man try to cheat me so that i wont ask for another room!!)
after we put off all our luggage, we were tired and take a shower, relaxing watching TV..
about after 1 hour, i feel very hot, and aircond seems not working well even i try to adjust the temperature by remote, then i called to frontdesk again...they ask a staff come up and check...the aircond compresser was problem!!! cannot be fixed at that night...THEN...we have to move to another room again!!!
we have to pack again our luggage and all other beloggings to another floor again..
No mood at all for the first day arrival, so bad!!
then for the next few days i found that the staff all mostly money face!!
maybe the first day we didnt pay them "tips", then those few staffs some times just pretended not see us and let us carry those heavy things. ( i saw some other foreigners, they treat them so well, help them to carry the luggage, very good service, of course they pay them tips..)
But i was wonder, that is their jobs, they responsible to do that right?
even the last day when we check out, we have to carry those heavy luggage by ourselves.
( the hotel lifts is sharing to 2 floors, means if you stay 4th floor, when you step out from lifts, go up staircase go to 5th floor, go down staircase to 4th floor)
so we need to carry many things by walking up and down the staircase!!
SO BAD service!!!
about the rooms, space is just good enough for 2. but lighting not bright enough. and very noisy everytime the rail passby.. toilet is clean but old. room smells old even it renovated few yrs ago.
doorlock is not safe. using a normal wooddoor key. my husband even went to the wrong room( next room) and he get to open it with our room key!
( the man inside nextroom was shocked!)
Then everytime we went out for shoppings we feel worried..not secure at all!!
free wifi internet access is a lie! you have to pay 200baht for one hour!
( there are many internet cafe at surrounding area with 20baht per hour..)
the staff told me that wifi is free in our room, but you have to pay for the password...==
I will NEVER stay there again. AND i recommend NOT to stay there!!
I would prefer citin hotel, good service, new, friendly staff, secure..

“You get what you pay for - do not expect a 5 * resort! Serious shoppers only!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2010

We stayed at Baiyoke Boutique Hotel and I guess we should have known better because of the price. I travelled with a friend and we went mainly to Bangkok to shop. We stayed here because it was cheap and because of the location - we later went to Phuket where we spent a lot more on our hotel. Honestly this hotel did fulfill its purpose - somewhere to stay while we shopped our hearts out for 3 days. BUT - our hotel absolutely stunk the stench was horrible and the room was not appealing AT ALL. But then we did not pay much for the room at all so I didnt expect a fabolous place either. Do not expect a resort, expecwhat you pay for. It fulfilled the purpose, this hotel is for serious shoppers only due to the location. Still a bit of a walk to BMK though. The photos on the website are WAY OFF so do not go by them. I went to Phuket and stayed at Graceland Resort and that was AMAZING (if anyone needs a fabolous hotel)! This hotel fulfilled its purpose for us but remember: You get what you pay for!
